| All I can say it that 8 1/2 lb is not really big. He's not tiny but he sure isn't huge Don't you love him no matter what his size? All of mine are over 10 lbs and I sure love them all for who they are not how much they weigh.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | That depends on your expectations, but I dont think 8.5 lbs is big, that is how much Sophie weights and she is turning 9 months old the 11th.

| I think the only time any loving owner should worry about weight is when it affects their pet's health. Like if their baby is underweight or overweight, but other than that there really isn't anything to worry about.

| How big he's getting or going to get isn't limited by his parents. You have to look back at his grandparents, his great grandparents, and on and on to begin to get an idea of what his adult size is going to be.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would think he has done growing taller and longer but may but on a few more ounces. It seems all of mine out on a little weight after they reached 1.

| I don't think 8 1/2 lbs is that big at all. If he were 20 lbs I would say wow! He is still a little dog. What's the difference? It seem sto me all you do is complain about this little one. First his hair color--too silver., now he is too big. I have 4 yorkies and all are different sizes. I have 4 kids and all are different sizes. You just never know what you are going to get. Just be happy he is healthy and gives you love. Don't ask for more. He doesn't.

| I will say that I had a very large maltese; my first dog. He was about 10 -12 lbs and every one else I knew had a little bit smaller ones. He was one of the best dogs I have ever had. And to everyone else . . he was considered downright tiny! (Those that aren't used to tiny dogs). He was very healthy. He had one torn ACL joint when he was about 9 years old - that was it. Now I have a tiny yorkie - barely 4 lbs. She is a living doll and we love her . . but so fragile. She has many health problems. She has been the vet more in her lifetime (not even a year) than my maltese or my Westie ever went. I tried to find a very good breeder - not a puppymill. Not that all tiny ones are unhealthy . . but there is a risk there and they are very fragile. I think what I am trying to say is count your blessings; you have a beautiful, sturdy, healthy dog. He's adorable by the way! I know you will love him no matter what. |
