| Hi, new Yorkie owner here Hello everyone, My 15 year+ wish for a Yorkie finally came true early Friday morning. I adopted Mickey from Scooter's Pals rescue & am so lucky. He is 1 year old, may be a Chorkie (they weren't sure), extremely loveable, friendly and sweet. I'm planning on signing us up for basic training classes soon and am enjoying getting to know him & shower him with tons of love. So far only hit one snag: today when i went to a store with him (i don't have a bag yet), i was told that only service dogs were allowed (i told the person i didn't see a sign posted in the window & they said it was for future visits!!) Mickey is soooo tiny i was shocked this person saw him & he didn't make any noise (except for the kisses he was giving me that he seems to love to give everyone)! Any advice about how & where i can take my lil guy would be great! =) Thank you, Lorie & Mickey |

| Welcome to YT! Thank you for rescuing and opening your heart and home to this little guy. I believe that CA is much more liberal then other states about bringing your pup into the stores. My suggestion would be to get a nice bag and you will not have any problems in the future. I think the one place that it is frowned upon would be grocery stores. There is a member here that sells Kwigy Bo bags that are seem to be very popular. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ml#post3040113

| Hello, welcome and congrats on your new yorkie! I'm so happy for you! I have 3 yorkies now, but when I had only one, I used to take her everywhere with me. I have a carrier that looks like a purse and no one ever noticed, except for once when she barked. Normally she would be quiet and just peak out the mesh end.

| Welcome Lorie and Mickey! Glad you are joining us here on YorkieTalk. Can't wait to see pictures of your new pup. If you want to take your baby with you, it is good to start purse training at home. Around here dogs are welcome in pet stores, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Enjoy your new furbutt!
