| New Here Hello, Im new here. I just purchased a yorkie but haven't recieved her yet. She was supposed to be flown in this week but at 8 weeks she only weighs 1.08lbs. At her vet check up they said they wanted her to be 2lbs before flying. I can't wait to get her.......I have everything ready for her. Just hope she gains the needed weight soon. Does anyone know about how long it takes for them to gain? |

| You will have a healthier puppy an one that is better behaved if you wait until she is 12 weeks. Hopefully, she'll gain that weight over the next month. Welcome to YT. I can tell how excited you are. We are all that way when we get new puppies, but it is more important that they be healthy and spend more time with their moms. Their moms teach them things that we humans can't seem to do so easily.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk! You will enjoy this group. I have a new little Yorkie puppy also that we brought home a month ago. I agree, the longer they stay with their Mom, the better behaved the puppy will usually be. They learn so much from their Mom, the first 12 weeks. Can hardly wait to hear all about your new little puppy once she arrives home to you. |

| Welcome to YT! I have to agree with the others posting. See if they can wait to ship when she is 12 weeks old.

| Welcome to YT. I would think flying would be very stressful on such a little one. I agree with the others regarding behavior. Try to be patient, I know it's hard, but you will be rewarded with a healthy, happy puppy

| Hello and welcome to YT! : ) Everyone else has already given you good advice about waiting, and I agree. I'm sure by then she will be big enough. Congratulations!
