| Bella is having a bad ear day?? Ok can someone explain this to me..Bella's ears stood up a few weeks ago. and today one of them is back down??? what happened??? poor thing looks so funny..lol. just so you know, she is 15 weeks old. ( in case that might matter) Riley has stand up ears as well, and once his went up, they stayed up. so I have never seen one go back down before. could something have happened to her ear or something?? or do they go down and then go back up sometimes??

| She is porabably teething. Pixie's did this when she was around 16 weeks and at one time she had one up and one down for about a month. Make sure that the hair on the ears is trimmed though.

| I taped Bella's ear. I hope this helps, Im also gonna give her some extra calcium I think It is because she is teething, but some one told me that their pups ear fell after shots..( dont know why that would happen) but the strange thing is Bella got shots the day before her ear fell???weird huh?

Senior Yorkie Talker | Ohh this is ok! Bella was 15 or 16 weeks old when her one ear went down. What someone else told me when I was worried about her ear going down is this: When the babies start to teeth, the body takes some of the cartilidge matter from the ears for the new teeth. So sometimes as a result you might have one or two ears flop. Its totally normal and I don't think you need to tape the little one's ears ... give it a week or 2 and they should be back up! Hope this helps

| ears down? Jonah also had up/down ear problem, his breeder recommended that I sprinkle a little cheese on his food once a day, in order to increase the calcium in his diet. This helps to correct for any calcium deficiency, as both his bones and teeth are using calcium for development leaving less for the cartilage in the ears. This did work, I think, they did go back up and stayed, but there is no way to know if it could have happened without cheese!

| when SUzi was younger , she sometimes had this happen too. I thought it was cute though , it did not last , her ears were up in no time again , and ever since.

| Oh thank you guys so much. I feel tons better. It sounds like it is pretty normal for this to happen then..(whew) I really didnt want the poor girl to go around with one ear up and one down permanently if I could do something to help. She must be teething because she is starting to chew stuff again, another laptop charger bit the dust last night. And for the last couple weeks she has not been chewing anything except for her bully, and some toys..but since yesterday every time I look at her it seems like she has something that she is not supposed to have. So I will just keep an eye on the ear, and keep giving the calcium to help.

| My little girl (Princess) is also about 15 weeks and one year flopped this past week. When I took her in for a vet visit, I asked about it and if it were related to teething. I know my pomeranian puppy went thru this also around the same age. I am trying NOT to worry so much about this since I figured she may be teething. Just praying her floppy ear will stand up again soon. Princess does look soooo adorable with her cute little ears, on up and one flopped down. I guess I just worry so much about my new little "baby". LOL!!! |
