Flea Questions. I don't really know what they look like totally. If i'm seeing black stuff on my dog's belly and under area that is NOT moving and has no visible legs or anything what is it? Is it flea dirt or dead fleas? Does anyone have a good link to some pictures of fleas, eggs, larvae, and dirt on dogs so we know not only the close ups but what it looks like to the naked eye??? Thanks, I think Bentley has(d) fleas and that caused his dermatitis. i don't see anything moving on him, but i was picking off some yucky stuff that is either scabs or flea dirt? I put advantix on him and he's on tritop and clavamox to heal up. i just need ot know if i should spray down my house tonight or not. i haven't seen a moving thing on him, just this black stuff.

okay pretty sure it's nothing to do with fleas and just scabs. i peeled off a few of them and nothing was red when wet.

You'd see the fleas moving. They actually jump. They are tiny like a speck of dirt but you'd definately see them moving. Look at her belly and around her ears. Maybe it's just plain dirt?

nothing moves. nothing in ears or any other part of his body, it's all just around his male anatomy with red bumps and such. the vet said he has dermatitis and mentioned fleas and possibly laying in urine as a cause. i'm putting ointment on him, just wondered what the little black/brown spots were that were coming off him. hopefully just healing scabs falling off.

if it is fleas you would know for sure as the can jump a long way when i got my new li'l one last nov. they told me she just had thick ears they had just given her a bath that morning we drove for 4 1/2 hours non stop to get her but i was not sure about her didn't see any flea on her but i was sure it was flea dirt she was not doing anything but just laying in her bed so i didn't get her come home and called my vet. and he said it could be fleas so i went back the next week and got her she was eat up in them by that time so bad that the vet had to shave her ears and top of her head i have no regrets about going back to get her the vet said if i had not got her the fleas might would have kill her she was just 22 oz when i got her now my wild child and li'l tom-boy is a big 3 lbs but the love that she gives no one but another dog lover would understand Pat
