| Heat cycle already.. As some of you may know Skittles had a litter(2 puppies) in late July(31st actually) that did not make it. Is it possible for her to be in heat already? I noticed her bleeding on Sunday, her last heat was the end of May. And Gunner(13wks old boxer) is trying to mate with her, lol which is funny cuz he is so much bigger than her., and she looks up at me like has he lost his mind! Don't worry I do seperate them and would never leave them unsupervised! Just looking for some insight. She had spotted in Sept as well, only for a day or two from what I noticed.

| I am watching them at all times! I would never leave Skittles with Gunner unattended as I would not want her to be mated with such a big dog! And 95% of the day she is seperated from him, he is only allowed to be in 2 rooms and Skittles has the rest of the house.

| I realize I worded my orginal post wrong. What I mean by Gunner attempts to mate with Skittles is, he uses his paws to get her under him and kinda hunches down like he is ready to mount, but I scoop Skittles up and so nothing happens. He is like a foot or so taller than she! That is when I normally seperate them for a few hrs and only allow Skittles back into the same room as Gunner to play, outside to potty, or eat. I never let it go any further than that. I would not put Skittles at such risk by leaving them alone w/o supervision.

| I think it is too soon to be back in heat... (stranger things have happened, I guess). You might want to give your vet a call and mention the spotting. It doesn't seem right to me.

| Maybe she came into heat quicker because her pups didn't survive (it is that way with some animals). My Tiah is in heat right now and her pups were born May 30th. I put a onesie on her with a pad in it for the bleeding. I'll attach a picture. It works great and she doesn't bother it at all. |

| If she had her puppies July 31st that would mean she came into heat last May and was bred probably the end of that month. That would mean she came into heat possibly the 2nd week of May. Hmmm..... My females have occassionaly tried to fool me too. It has happened that they spotted for a day or two at 1 or 2 months ahead of the real thing. I do know when my females are supposed to go into heat. Some are at 6 months and some at 8 months in between cycles. She may be getting ready to come into heat next month. Sounds corny doesn't it? This has happened to my sister also. Anybody else have this happen to them? |

| They are all different. I figure it has been about 5 months since Skittles came into heat last. They are in heat for about 3 weeks before they will breed...give or take. Tiah comes into to heat a lot quicker than her littermate that my Mom has. She is actually 2 heat cycles ahead of her sister being that she is in heat right now. |

| I think it could be she's in heat, I would make a vet visit just to be on the safe side.
