| OH MY GOODNESS-MY 5LB Yorkie Killed a Possum!!! I am still reeling from this episode. Last night I took my 2 yorkies (3rd yorkie (15 lbs)was still with my daughter in her bed) outside about 4 AM. cause they seem to want to go then. Anyway as I went out with them I was trying to spot them with the light when I heard them scramping after something. My female 5 lb. lap-dog, sticks as close to me as a june bug was in kill mode and killed a baby possum. It was over half her size and she was proudly bringing it back to me. We have a fenced in back yard but there are woods around it. My male yorkie (5 1/5lb) watched the whole thing right behind her! Later when my senses came to me, I thought Oh My Goodness wondered if it would have been a adult possum!! Maybe even an armadilla which we have. She would have gone after that also. I could have been in a fight so quick with a wild animal and my poor babies at risk!!!! So...new plan.....at night they have to go on a leash in case there are wild animals outside. Anyway had to share this event with my Yorkietalk buddies. They are calling my Bella "PK" Possum Killer around the house today. |

| OMGosh! I would've been terrified. But, what a brave little girl she was to protect her yard like that. Have you called your vet about the incident? I'd be concerned that your little one might catch something from a live rodent like that.

| Bella has had her rabie shot and believe me I checked her from head to toe, not a mark on her. She proudly jumped back in bed and fell asleep. I think it was her Mother's Day gift to me. She was so proud of herself bringing it back to me and laying it at my feet. |

| What a brave girl! I'd be glad it wasn't an adult or especially an armadillo!

| on a camping trip last year my Jack Russell Terrier got in a wrestling match with a skunk while she was on a leash held by my husband.... to say it was bad is an understatement. My husband spent hrs throwing up as did my dog. I had to make a late night walmart run for every can of tomato juice they had and the biggest storage bucket they had. While I was gone our friends went camper to camper asking for anything tomato. My husband was covered in pasta sauce and sloppy joe sauce when i got there. My dog on the other had was licking all the sauce off her body. They both slept outside in a lawn chair that night and we drove home with the windows open. I would of gladly settled for a possum. |

| I was just going to post, "Thank God it wasn't a skunk." I feel bad for your husband and Jack Russell, motomomma317. On the other hand, I too would have been terrified if I heard/saw Sydney going after something. Syd is always on a leash for that very reason. Also, there are owls out at night that have been known to silently swoop down and scoop up a little dog. |

| Happy Mothers Day My 3 monsters chased a bunny or 2 or 3 in our yard on more than one occasion. My husband had piled tree branches and twigs on a firepit in the backyard~made a wonderful home a pack of baby bunnies. One night I let them out and they all went right to the fire pit and chased bunnies in every directions. Pebbles and Doodlebug had one cornered in opposite ends of the yard. When I yelled at Dbug he left his bunny and came to help Pebbles. Let's just say it was not pretty and neighbors came from their homes to see why I was screaming like there was an ax murderer after me. Then they wanted to give me kisses Did you get a great big smooch too.

Possum Breath!!!!!!!! And she is one of those that wants to kiss your mouth and nose straight up!~!! I just kept looking at her as she was laying right besides me fast asleep. I am laying besides a barely 5 lb dog that has killed an animal and my 15 lb teapot would have tripped me running the other way if he had been out in the yard. Now when my 15 lb dog is bugging her I tell him,"You better watch out! She can take your head off.lol" She looks so innocent too.. | |
