| Curly haired yorkie? I saw a yorkie yesterday and his hair was very curly! Is this very common? I've never seen that before, Bailey's hair is nearly stick straight. I thought this little guy may have been a yorkie/poodle mix, but he is purebred He was adorable with his curly hair though, I was just surprised by it

| Layla has a cotton coat- it has a bit of a wave to it but if she gets wet- they are full on curls!! i LOVE them!!!! however, from what i understand it is a recessive gene and not standard- but we still love it |

| Jackson has wavy hair -- his isn't a cotton coat though, it's just not super silky straight. When it's cut really short, it stays straight but once it gets longer, it curls... also when it gets wet, it curls a lot! you can see it here when I let his hair grow a bit longer than usual....

| Kimbo has a modified coat. His hair is short (grows super slow) so it lays straight with a slight wave. Get him wet and the curls come out in full force. He has this really cool Superman curl on top of his head that we LOVE! Oh, and lots of curls around his hind end. SOOO cute, but it straightens out after a day or so.

| My Jada must have a partial modified coat. She rarely has mats ,the front half is straight, from her hips back she is curly especially right after a bath. Bogie on the other hand has mats like crazy but his hair is straight, it may be because he is a Biewer. Either way I love the differences in their coats. I call Jada my little curly butt.

| yeah we use a blow dryer but it still curls up -- i am going to try a different blow dryer as groomer said if you do not use the attachment to narrow air down it makes the coat curly. My demi is like this too and she is a maltese and dee dee well she is silky but thin hair due to health issues |

| I'm not sure about anything concerning the 'Standard', but I've noticed with mine that as the coats grow, when they get about 3/4 to 1 inch, they will curl. Left to grow, at about 3-4 inches, the weight of the hair begins to straighten it out a bit. I use a comb and a blow dryer after the bath, and the heat from the drying process straightens it out even more. Also, using extra conditioner and letting it set into the coat for a minute or two before rinsing helps some. (Is this cheating when it comes to the Showring?) Shaved down 2-3 inches long 10 inches (waves at the bottom from leg/rug)
