| your Yorkie deserves better I put this in this section because more people will read it and hopefully some will become more aware of what is best for their furbabies. It amazes me how many people think the FDA actually monitors what is put in commercial pet food. There is so much money involved that things are just ignored. I believe our Yorkies and other breeds deserve better to live a longer healthier life. Rendering Plants Recycling of Dead Animals and Slaughterhouse Wastes This is an older article but it's still right on time with truth.

| I've read that once before. Makes you sick. After a terrible scare with Nylabones years ago I don't believe anything that anyone says. I always do research into it. Thanks for posting this. Other's certainly will learn from it. |

| Great post! You are right, the FDA and other government institutions are not doing their job period! Lets face it, if they allow downed meat in human food industry, which is happening now, what do we think is happening in the pet food industry? For those of you (and you know who you are), who do not believe this is happening............... | I had never given much thought to pet food in the past. Since becoming a Yorkie mommie and joining YT, boy have my opinions changed. That is why I love this forum there is something to learn constantly, my two would still be on science diet if not for YT!!!!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I was the same way. Prior to YT, I never owned a dog, dh always had a hunting dog or farm dog. I was never involved with taking care of them and he bought whatever food was on sale. Now that I've learned, I feel guilty about letting those dogs eat junk most of their lives. LOL...now I cook meals for my son's lab and boxer (along with the my yorkies and foster kids)....my how things have changed!

| Yesterday evening I went to Saks to pick up some Kiehls body lotion and took Cerise with me...and some of the cosmetic dept. sales people saw her and of course complimented on how beautiful she was Then one of them came over with a generic dog bone biscuit to give her and I told him thank you but she doesn't eat them. He said "no what does she eat?"...I told him that I cook for her...everyone one standing around were surprised...then I told him you never know she may try it (I was being nice...not trying to be stuck up ) so he broke a piece off and tried to get her to take it...she smelled it and turned her head and nose up in such a way they all started laughing and said she is spoiled...I said she gets delicious treats from Mommy that are very healthy...then they asked me what does she eat, so I told them and they were then standing with a surprized expression looking at me like I'm nuts LOL! So I then told them that commercial dog food is garbage and we don't eat garbage in our house, then explained about rendering plants and the benefits of why we don't. They were not believing me so I told them to research it if they have dogs and one was interested in Yorkies so I told her about YT Anyway it was interesting even though I think they think I'm crazy. Cerise is happy and healthy and that is what's important to me
