| Yorkie Pup Question Hi my Sky is two weeks shy of 5mos. Recently, she has involved us in helping her hide her treats before she eats them. She goes into this long drawn out process of searching all around the house for the PERFECT place to hide her treat. I'm assuming that this is normal for the Yorkie Breed to hide food. But now we have to assist her in this effort. Once I take the treat and find a place, then she will go back and get it and then eat it. But only after it has been hidden first. I do remember reading somewhere games that Yorkies play which involve hide and seek. But I don't know how to start this game play with my little one? Does anyone know? She amazes me everyday and only if I could stop her from attacking people so they can pet her. She get so excited and loves people. |

I don't think it's breed specific, but these wee ones can really wrap us around their finger. They are smarter than we are. I had a terrier poodle mix little girl. She always asked for 2 treats, the first one she ran off with to who knows where, she'd be back in a couple of minutes for another and proceed to eat it. Now this is gross, when we were moving, I was packing my closet and way in that back were a pile of treats. I don't know if she was saving them for a rainy day or what.

| Lizzie does this with her babies (stuffed toys). She will run around, sometimes whining and even go through the motions of digging and burying her baby. Food is too important to her to hide, plus the other dogs might get it. Another thing she does is get the baby anytime she gets excited, and when I get home or other people come over, she will run around with the toy in her mouth for 30 minutes or more. Sometimes it gets buried, and other times she just drops it where ever.

| Our youngest Yorkie Odie does this, but only because the two girls will pinch his treat if he doesn't hide it. lol. He's another who brings a toy to you when we return home. Hugs Shirl x x |
