| Yorkie in Swimming Pool I live in Florida and it is HOT here! I was wondering if my little baby would like to go in the pool and if it was even safe for him to swim in there? Has anyone done this or tried this? |

| Some love it, some hate it. Some people get a little wading pool to let them play in safely, and others are good swimmers in pools, lakes, etc. Here's a sample, and there are many more videos of Yorkies swimming:

| Try the tub. Kaji takes a swim in the tub sometimes, he hates it. You can control the amount of water and the temp in the tub.

| Since I have a pool it was important to take each of the doggies in and make sure they knew how to swim, and could swim to the steps to get out if they fell in accidentally. Tiki is the only one who really loves being in the pool, and the others just tolerate it and want out as fast as possible.

| I am going to type my response in caps so people understand how serious this is...many yorkies drown because they get in a pool and cannot get out but if done right can have a great time... YORKIES SHOULD BE TREATED THE SAME AS A TWO YEAR OLD AROUND A SWIMMING POOL. THEY SHOULD BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES!!!!..

We bought a little dog pool from Petsmart last year & I would NEVER let them outside without us watching them anymore then I would a small child. Not that they went into the pool one time anyway!

| My babies love the pool. But we take every precaution to make sure they are supervised near the pool. Just like the other person said they are like 2yr olds. Here is a picture of them: My daughter and son are in the pool with them. My daughter is pushing them around in the boat. This was last year, before we had Wally. My Trixie can not swim she is the big one. My pebby is the little one and my dare devil. She will jump right out of that boat!!!

YT 500 Club Member | We have a life vest for our baby as we have taken her out on our kayak. If you want to take your baby in the water, get him a vest and see what happens. Then just keep him in the vest at all times while he is anywhere near your pool. Have a safe and happy summer.

| We lived in Florida for ten years. I used to take Toffee into the pool with me, at first I kept putting her on the steps until she knew where they were. My husband and I would let her swim back and forth between us, but invariably she would swim past us and over to the steps. My one thing I had to watch for was that she would run around the pool and bark at the 'chippies' running on the screen roof, because when she barked she would always make little backward jumps with each bark, and I would hear 'bark', 'bark', 'splash'- she always would swim around the wall to the stepsBUT I DID ALWAYS WATCH - JUST LIKE A BABY!!!!!!!!
