| Anybody tried a no-pull harness? Ruger is pulling like a train. I got him a regular harness so his little head wouldn't pop off, but I've seen these new harnesses with the clip in the front. I guess if the dog pulls it kinda pulls him around. I've tried all of the tricks I've seen on TV, holding the leash close, reversing direction, etc. It works at the moment but the next day we are starting over again. I was hoping the no-pull leash might help, but they aren't cheap so I'd like to see if anyone else has tried them. Thanks. |

| Jackson was never a terrible puller but he definitely did pull. I bought the Premier EZ Walk harness... he was walking perfectly, right next to me, no more pulling that very same day. I swear by them. I now use chattiesmom's silk harnesses and I purchase the walk-nice ones so we have the option of the d-ring on the front AND back. He's pretty good at not pulling regardless but sometimes he needs a reminder so we will clip the leash to the front in those instances.

| I always use a gentle leader with Smokey. If fitted properly, it works wonders. It has the nose piece and clips under the nose so when they pull, the head goes down and causes them to slow down. I bought the EZ walker or whatever its called with Chip and it did nothing for him. He's just stubborn I guess. I tried to put Smokeys Gentle Leader on him and then he wouldn't even budge. He laid on the floor and wouldn't even get up for food. It really depends on the dog. My recommendation is to take your dog to the store and have him try the different kinds on to see what works and to see his size. You can also usually get the harnesses cheaper on ebay too.

| I tried everything for Uni. She is a sled dog on crack. She pulled so hard she started to make her back toe nails bleed. And not just a bit of red, it looked like she dipped her foot into red paint. I tried the EZ walk, Uni would just pull to get the lead up under her armpit and continue to pull. I didn't want to try the kind that attached to the head, bc she will just snap her little head off. I won't even try it. I bought the anit pull harness from Walmart and it helped a little bit. I tried the change directions and look crazy thing. I tried the sit and wait to calm down bit. She would sit but never calm down. The only thing that I have found that works is an extra long retractable leash, so she doesnt feel like she is being held back. This is what you are NOT supposed to do to a puller, give them what they want. BUT I felt like I had tried everything (and really tried, not just tried one time) and this is the only thing that makes her look semi-sane.
