| Dog friendly vacation ideas? Not that I'm planning to go anywhere soon, I thought it would be nice to have a list of dog friendly vacations. I'll start.. Pigeon Forge, TN. Sugar Maple Cabins have pet friendly cabins and awesome views of the Smokey Mountains.

| Great thread because not only are hotel accommodations important, but some places/towns are more dog friendly than other. I think that area of TN is at the top of the list. We are looking for a very very verrrrry cheap vacay (probably have to stay in MI ) and the cabin or whatever would have to be Ellie friendly, but it would be nice if the whole town was.

| It is....I was there about a month ago and spent one afternoon in the west village. Everywhere I turned someone had a dog...not to mention yorkies yorkies everywhere! I really missed my babies that day.

| Most of the Pet Freindly rooms are smoking rooms. I am going to check out some cabins in the Bar Harbor, MA area that takes dogs. I will have to carry Maxine up Cadillac Mountain, but the hike down will not be so bad. Oh, to be 30 again! |

| I am a clean freak according to my boys, lol. I was a little concerned how the rooms would be on our trip out east. When we went to CT for a week in February we stayed in three motels along the way. Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn and Best Western. All three were very clean and didn't smell badly or have stained carpeting. We paid a little extra per night for Sophie. I'm sure there are places that are pet friendly and not so nice but these three chains did a super job in cleaning the rooms. We didn't leave Sophie alone in the room except to go out to dinner one night for a couple of hours and she stayed in the locked room in her doggie den we brought with us during that time. Other than that she went everywhere with us. It was a great trip!

| Thank you for the info. My husband and I have gone there on our motorcycles for the past 3 years and will probably go down this year also. Will now have Bella to take and I needed that info. Thanks again. |
