| Sleep time Hello all! Just wondering how long does your yorkie sleep per day? I think Samy sleeps between 14 and 16 hours per day assuming he sleeps throughout the time I am not at home. Basically we get up at 8am so he wakes up with us... then I fall back asleep around 9am until 10:30am with Samy... He eats as soon as he is up around 10:30am and I leave to go to work at 10:45am. I go back home for my lunch break (different times depending on how busy I am) so I usually wake him up and stay with him for about 1h to an hour and a half. Then I leave and I bet he falls back asleep as we have an afternoon walk outside and play time. In the evening after work I get back home at around 7:40pm and I wake him up again. We go to bed around 12:30am - sometimes 1 or 2am but he is already sleepy by that time. Sorry for the long message.

| I dont know exactly how long mine sleep but its not as long as yours for sure. I dont know what they do when I am not home but I alwys find the toybox emptied around my room so I know they are not sleeping the whole time... they sleep most of the night but do get up sometimes to play with a toy or go potty during that time as well. Make sure you are leaving plenty of things to keep your little one busy while you are gone, so they have something to do besides sleep!

| Thanks for the reply. Well Samy has plenty of toys and he goes crazy over them.. he plays a lot i know for a fact but every time I get home i wake him up .. maybe when I leave he eats and plays, gets tired and falls asleep? he is almost 6 months old... but definitely he has a lot of room to himself (the whole room) and I dont leave him alone for that long... i leave him for about 4 hours, then come home for 1.5 hours and then leave him for another 3 hours... I wanted to know what is the normal sleep time for them in a day... he has sooo much energy when i go back home and starts running everywhere so i take him outside - which he loves!

| I'm sad to say, I can't remember how long Twinkie slept at 6 months and she is only 8 months now! Short memory I guess! She doesn't sleep hardly at all during the day, now. She has 4 cats and another dog to keep her busy. She sleeps through the night and a couple of naps during the day after her walks. She's way too nosy to sleep! |
