| New house I just want to share how amazed I am at how well Layla is doing with potty training in our new house! (KNOCK ON WOOD!) I bought a condo last summer and I was at my wit's end with her peeing on the carpet! I resorted to ripping out all of the carpet and replacing it with laminate flooring, which seemed to solve the problem. I'd say she was 100% trained without an accident for at least the last 2 months. Then of course, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon a listing for our dream house and it was on the market forever without any offers... so we thought why not? We put in an offer, and before we knew it, our offer was accepted and our condo was sold! I was beyond nervous about bringing Layla to the new place. It's an old 1916 2.5 story house with original hardwoods throughout. We moved on Saturday and brought her there Saturday night. We put one pad by the back door and we all went to sleep upstairs. To our amazement, we came down in the morning to two pee spots on the pad, and nothing anywhere else She actually went down to pee TWICE! I had planned to have her cordoned off in one area while we're at work but she is doing so great I don't think there's a need. Yesterday we left her for the day to go to work and she faithfully used her pads again! Could it be that after 4.5 years, my baby is finally TRAINED???

| Thanks! I may have spoke to soon because she has now pooped in the living room But I suppose that's better than a pee!

| Layla will get the hang of it! I had a dog years ago and it took 5 years for him to realize he needs to poo outside! Talk about patience... |

| Wow, I did the same thing in my house!...Got frustrated w/potty training and carpet, ripped it out, and put in laminate...Had Apple housebroken in less than two weeks!!!...However, she will not use puddle pads, will only go outside...Buzz is pads or outside...BUT, I'm thinking about leasing my home out, and moving into a nice apartment, w/carpet!!! Leasing out, incase I regret my decision...My only reservation is will Apple go back to wizzin' all over the place??? I ask the apartment people if I could put laminate in, if I paid for it, and they said no...Glad you got hardwoods...that's at least cleanable...All the best w/the transition!!! |

| Thanks everyone!!! Sweet Apple, Layla would pee on the carpet in our old house as well (a rental), and even on an area rug we had under the table. BUT when we would visit my parents or my grandma or anyone else with carpet or area rugs, she wouldn't use them at all But I think we're going to be a no-carpet family forever now lol. The hardwoods in our place are all original and have not been refinished at all, so there are some spaces between boards every once in awhile and I love how old and worn they look, but I worry that if she pees, it'll get in a crack and we'll never totally clean it out
