hi everyone, i have a 4 month old little girl her name is SOPHIA and she has a beautiful thick coat of hair, however she is getting knots on her legs...i brush her everyday but she still gets these knots. would anyone know of any product i can buy that helps brush these little knots out????? Also since i have your attention lol would you recommend bully sticks????? thank you

Does she get damp and tangle or in weeds? Or does her hair just tangle easily? You might try a little corn starch worked into the hair and first try to separate with your fingers before you try to comb.

She just gets tangled easily I guess..... She has really thick hair

I use a metal comb to get the legs and a brush for the top hair.

Sophia is young, so you might be battling the puppy hair, which tends to tangle more easily.

I have had great success bathing with Biogroom Oatmeal shampoo and Biogroom Silk Creme conditioner, then brushing through with this brush:

With any chew, supervise your puppy and take the chew away when it gets down to a couple of inches -- potential choking hazard.

Leg knots are the hardest to get out - When my Chanel was a baby - she got them too - I used Johnsons no more tangles (found in the baby section of most stores) on her after a bath - eventually I didn't need it - but I got that idea from a groomer and it worked wonders

when she changes coat and matures - maybe you'll find the tangles and knots aren't so bad but with thick hair they can be like the cotton of a Q Tip and very hard to pull apart - good luck !

exactly.....im trying to really stay on top of it...your babies are soooo cute. when do they change coats?

BioGroom products have worked really well for knots in Roxy's hair. Tried several before, but BioGroom finally made brushing & combing a dream.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but.. I have found that not using any shampoo for easily tangled hair is best. For two years I bathed my little Yorkie Sophie and everytime she would have dry fly away hair. I tried many many products! My yorkie has long fine hair that can mat up just looking at her

So I decided to just use a mild tearless shampoo for food stuff on her face and a little conditioner on her back legs where pee tends to splatter up. Her fur is 100% better. The oils from her skin help keep her fur looking shiny and soft. And no more static flyaway hair.
I just use warm water which washes away any dirt. Bathing and brushing is a breeze for us both.

For long thick/wild puppy hair, my friend says she's always found it easier to bathe them, towel almost dry, but still pretty damp, then rub just a TINY amount of conditioner (pea sized) and 1 drop of lavender oil between her hands and apply it to the pup's hair paying attention to the ends and especially the leg area- blow dry and comb- no tangles ever. I just finished giving my li'l girl a bath and her hair was tangle/knot free, shiny and silky smooth.

My Lexie has sooo much hair she used to get the knot tangles, using a conditioner helps make them easy to undo. I have tried the expensive conditioners... but the one that works the best for her hair is mane and tail.

When Lexie was growing out the puppy hair I would use frizzease for humans to remove tangles. I would wet my fingers, take a dab of frizzease between my fingers then apply it to the knot, works great. I've also used it for my grand daughters barbie's hair, makes it look like new hair
