| Newbie here Hello I am a newbie Yorkie Mom too! I have posted on different threads trying to find the right place to start here. When I joined YT I had (1) yorkie male he is 7 months old today. I now have another yorkie and she "Josie" is 11 weeks old today. I have alot of questions and I am sure now that I found the main forum page I will find alot of answers. I have 2-picky eaters. My Jack was very sick 2 weeks ago, he likes to eat the clumps of dirt that come off the lawn mower. Made him very sick and scared his mommy too. Now when I take him out I have to follow him around with a water bottle and I guess my neighbors thinks his name is no-no or stop-it Jack, or aaakkk Jack. And boy he can run. My Jack I bought from a puppy store (didn't know the horror stories at that time) at the age of 12 weeeks and my Josie I bought from a breeder at the age of 9 weeks. Jack is about 5lbs and Josie is maybe 2-lbs. She seems very small. Josie is hitting the potty pads very well. But she don't roam in the house right now like Jack. Jack, now that is a different story. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. Will go outside and come right back in and do his business in house. We are still working on his potty training. Jack only like chicken and I have tried 900 things. Josie got ahold of his food while I was cleaning her area out and now she only wants the chicken. I call them chicken head #1 and chicken head #2. He is my little man and she is my cupcake. Any suggestions on anything I will appreciate, this is all new to me. I tried to post pictures I had an error I'll work on that. |

| Welcome! Sounds like you have your hands full. In training, the only advice I can offer is that if your pup needs to potty, then don't allow them back in until you have seen them do their job. Good luck!

| Welcome. Just hang in there with the potty training. You may need to confine them with a pad until they can be trusted. Maybe a pen with a pad, bed and food would be a good place to start. Good luck. |

| Hello and welcome. All I can say is that I have learnt to wait patiently for Alfie to pee outside. He goes out and runs around and tries to eat leaves and chases the other dogs and I used to call him in thinking he obviously doesn't really want to go. He would come in and pee pee in the house! I have now learnt that he likes to play for a bit and then he goes pee pee or pooh. He is fully housetrained at 6and half months. I never thought we would get there. Its time consuming but keep going. As for the food I can't help there. Alfie is on Royal Canin breed specific and loves his food.

| Just wanted to welcome you to YT. It does take a bit to get the hang of things...both the dogs and the site. |
