| Helpful hints...What have you done, that REALLY works? Please list all of your helpful hints that have been proven to work. Any category is good. Dawn- (the blue one) really worked to help kill fleas, in the case of an emergency. You may not be near a pet store, but usually you can get to a grocery store or 7/11 pretty easily, and quickly.

I agree about the Dawn....it works. For those who don't know: Be careful to get the "plain" old orig version of blue Dawn. There are so many out there.....some blue versions are really strong. The only place I could find here was Family Dollar. Corn Starch - is great for getting out mats. Feels silky while rubbing into the mat & helps to pull the hair apart to detangle while working on one at a time, of course. I use a huge beach towel underneath. It is kind of messy, but works!

| To make a dog throw up fast you can use plain table salt. Amount depends on the size of the dog.

| To clean those hard to reach teeth, use a Johnsons Q-tip with a little amount of CET (or whatever brand you use.) It's small and allows you to reach the back teeth without too much resistance. I also use Petzlife gel on it in the evenings. The cotton has never come off of the tlip with Johnsons...that's why I recommended that brand.

| This is my all time favorite, which I found on another YT thread... 1 Cup Peroxide 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda 1 drop liquid hand soap (Dawn) It's great for the little pee accidents your baby might have on your carpet or furniture. Takes the smell right out! |

| equal parts alcohol vinegar and water is great for ear infections can help treat or prevent(cats and dogs) A warm tea bag works great for eye infections if you can get them to hold still if you take four lemons and cut them in quarters and boil them for about a half hour and let them soak over night and put the mix into a spray bottle to spray on furniture, pet beds curtains and carpet to help control flea spread (dose not kill them but sort of warns them off it helps reduce the population somehow) okay that's all i got, love the thread such a great idea.

| My little yorkie has pancreatitis. We've been battling this for 10 years now - and I have found (maybe those of you who have this issue with your yorkies might benefit from my experience). Never "overfeed" your yorkie. I don't care how cute they are, how they use their cuteness for begging - just don't overfeed. When I give in to her begging/demanding, she always winds up with diarrhea. I also don't give her anything but her food. For a treat I'll give her a few kibbles. Works like a charm. |

| Potty Training Very good thread. I like the ideas and tips. The best tip I can pass along is the book "How to House Train Your Dog in 7 Days." Without a doubt, this is the best book anyone needs when potty training. What can I say, play, food, and potty schedules; using the crate; and only feeding your dog his/her own dog food. When people have potty training issues, I always tell them about the book and using the crate. Also, I put Sydney's potty pads, including her reusable ones, inside her SecondNature litter pan. The litter that comes with it was too messy and all Sydney wanted to do was chew on the litter. |

My tip:break away cat collars with bells. I keep one on my puppies at all times. I can hear them moving around and if I don't- it means I need to start looking for something naughty going on! | |
