| To clip bangs or not? I left for Florida for 3 weeks and had to clip Rambo's bangs. My sitter was not able to take care of his ponytail, so to make it easy I had his bangs clipped. Now, my question is whether to let them grow out to a true Yorkie or an easy way out and getting them clipped? He's got a beautiful face and is gorgeous. What Do I do?

| I have no idea!!! but let me know what you decide, as I am in the same boat....I groom Mr. Darcy myself, and I have left enough of long hair on top to put in bow, but I trimmed right around the top of his eyes because when he doesn't wear his bow he is peering through his hair like a sheepdog!!

| well I can say that I trimmed just the front of Hot Rod's bangs last year and am so sorry that I did! I know he does not like me fussing with his hair but at the same time he doesn't like his bangs in his eyes either. I've been trying to grow them out and they seem to be taking foooorevvver! lol You can see in my avatar that they are finally long enough for me to put up in a little topknot. I can't wait until he has his full topknot back as I think he looks so much better with his hair up. But at the same time I also know that he would be so much happier if I gave him somewhat of a puppy cut so he didn't have to be combed out and fussed over every day. Oh what to do? I am still kinda undecided for the summer though.

| i don't have a yorkie yet (still searching) so i can't speak from experience, but i can say - one of THE cutest things about a yorkie are those little bangs! i just love seeing a yorkie with a topknot/bow - it's just adorable, and unique to the breed. just MY opinion. |

| i know what you mean its taking forever for them to grow-maddies has had bangs since i got her and about 2 months ago i decided- i want them to grow out, along with the hair at the bottom 1/2 of her ears ( the groomer shaved to far down). i see that its growing but at this rate its going to be another couple months or so before i can get it in her pony i love her with bangs, but wanna see what she looks like with a full ponytail.

| I also need suggestions. I love the teddy-bear look of my girl's face with the bangs...but don't know what to do with the rest of her face...anyone with good pics/grooming shots of the face? My girl's beard was also clipped short when i got her, and I'm trying to grow it out. The problem I'm having is trying to keep it from poking her in the eyes while I grow it out. Any suggestions? Can I use a little hair gel? (environmentally friendly of course!) |

| I like my yorkies bangs cut, then I get to see their big brown eyes and adorable faces. No pony tails here, one minute after I put them in they pull them out or the other yorkies do it for them. Last edited by blondschilli; 04-11-2010 at 07:06 AM. |

YT Addict | I cut the piece between Derby's eyes because they were always in his face and it drove him nuts. The longer they got, the worse it was. Derby will never have a topknot because my husband refuses. I do groom Derby myself because (again) my husband refuses to pay a groomer. Man oh man the mess my Derby has been in since we got him... Poor guy always has bad hair! LOL!
