| Excited to be here! Hi! My name is Heather and my yorkie's name is Max. I have had yorkies before but due to a divorce and many other changes in my life was forced to re-home them to a wonderful friend that actually flew here to get them and has given them a wonderful home for over three years now. I have since re-married a wonderful man and have had to more children with him. That makes a total of five children all together. Four wonderful boys and one beautiful little girl. They range from 18 months to 8 years. We have two other dogs besides Max, TJ who is full blood shepard, and Moose who is a lab-mix. We recently adopted Max from a friend who didn't want him anymore. Sadly I'm pretty sure it's because he doesn't have the perfect coat and was slightly on the tubby side when I picked him up. Since we have had him he last lost his booty fat since he has so much room to run and play! We have absolutely fallen in love with him just in the short time he has been a part of our family. I am very excited to be a member of yorkietalk and look forward to getting to know all of you and your babies as well!

| Thanks everyone! I wish I would have joined a few weeks ago. My poor little guy was actually attacked by a neighbor dog while we were out playing in the front yard. The dog a mastif mix who I had never even seen before came into the yard. As soon as Max saw him he went running over barking at him.(He thinks he is 10 feet tall and bullet proof), I went running behind to try to catch him because I had a bad feeling in my gut for some reason! By the time I got about half way to him that horrible dog had Max in his mouth shaking him. All I could do was scream and yell for my husband to help. By the time I got over there my big dogs had jumped in and attacked that dog and Max was crawling away crying. I called 911 right away and reported the attack and they sent out animal control. They were NO help at all! She said all they can do is go deem the dog viscious and tell them to keep it on a leash. I was furious! I said well there were a total of nine kids out here playing and it could have been any one of them! I rushed him to the vet and after running tests the doctor found that he had a punctured chest cavity and a collapsed lung as well as internal injuries to the liver. The vet said that he really needed surgery but max was not stable enough to do it and that I might consider having him put to sleep. He said if I didn't want to do that then I could try antibiotics and pain medication and hope he pulls through. Of course I said I wouls try the medications and take him home. The doctor didn't have much hope for him to pull through and there were several times that I was almost certain he was taking his last breaths. It was horrible. I took care of him day and night for 8 full days until he was able to walk with out being in severe pain and able to eat and drink without assistance. He has now almost made a full recovery. He is still a little tender on his right side but his bruising is fading away and he is back to running and playing. I can honestly say it is a miracle and that God definetly answered my prayers!! The worst part is I took the bill to the home of the owners of the other dog. The sister of the owner answered the door and I told her what had happened and even showed her the damage that he had done to my boy. I left all my information with her and was told the owner would call me and be more than happy to pay for the damages. I have yet to hear a word from them at all. Not even an apology. Regardless though I am just thrilled that I have my little man back and hopefully he wont have any long term affects. We will find out in a week or so when he goes back for a re-check.

| I am so sorry to hear that about your baby! Geez, your neighbors must be horrible people. I can't imagine what you were going through. Well, on a good note, you have found a wonderful site to meet great people and answer any question you might have. Good luck and I hope your baby pulls through with flying colors! |

| Dear Heather! First of all welcome to YT! We are so excites you are here! There are tons of amazing people just itching to talk about anything yorkie, be your friend, see pictures of Max and be a support in any way they can! Second, I am irate over what happened to Max and wish I could march down to that house I tell that lady what I think of her and her dog! What an awful ordeal to have to experience in the first place and then have him possibily not live and then to never hear a peep out of these people which means they are mean, careless and completely unclassy to say the least! How tacky to not apologize for your dog almost killing a neighbor's dog! I mean come on! It's the least you can do! Anyway, I am so glad that he is okay! Really upsetting to hear what he went through and I will be praying for a speedy recovery! Keep us posted on his progress and if there is anything I can do to be a support to you please don't hesitate to PM me! Have a great night! Hope to see you and Max around YT soon! :-) |

| Thanks! Yes they aren't very good people at all and aparently pretty heartless. Even if they couldn't have paid for the damages, I would have been satisfied with an apology. On the bright side we just bought a new house and won't be anywhere near them any longer. The people that live next to them said the same dog has killed 6 of their cats as well as some goats. I guess animal control doesn't find that alarming enough to take further action.
