| Has your yorkie ever........... howled??? Gizmo went for a ride with us today and we had to pull to the side bc a sheriff was driving by us with his sirens on and Gizmo started to howl! He stopped when he couldn't hear it anymore, then a firetruck drove by blaring its sirens and he started howling again! Why did he do that? Do the sirens hurt his little ears?

My first Yorkie did this all the time, and we could even get him to do it on command when we asked him to "sing." We would howl, and he would join us. Or, sometimes a siren or music would get him going. My second Yorkie never howled. The third one, who knows? She's just over 6 months old, so we'll see.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh ya we live near a train track and Mindy barked and howled the first time she heard a train. My finacee's dog will howl with every train that passes. The vet said a dog will howl if something hurts their ears.

Thor's Human Donating Member | I would LOVE to hear Thor howl! I just tried howling at him, and he seemed very disturbed - but he kept his mouth shut.

| Hammer hasn't learned to howl yet. He barely barks. His sound of defense are these 'sneezes' .. then a cute slight bark comes out. |

| JoJo knows what the word "go" means when I say it and point away from me. I use it when I want him to leave me alone (like when he's trying to get me to play and I'm busy with something). His response to that word is always to howl. It's like an "ow, ow, owwwwww". I can't help myself...I think it's so cute because to me he's communicating with me, saying "but mommmm, I wanna playyyyyyyy!"

Kaji doesn't even bark, I doubt he'll howl. Wait... he did howl after his neuter but I think that was because he was in pain. I was running on no sleep so I don't even remember if it was cute or not.
