Can I report this person? Hi all! I was visiting a friend of mine over the weekend, and we were talking about owning dogs. I mentioned my yorkie, and her boyfriend said that while he wanted a dog, he couldn't take yorkies. When I asked why I got this horrible story about visiting a friend of his father's to find his yorkie-breeding wife owned a "sea of dogs." Literally. He told me when he was younger she had 8 or 9, and it was handleable, but the last time he was there he went into the garage (where she keeps her yorkies) and he said he couldn't even see the floor. There were dog cages everywhere and all the dogs were out and barking like mad and just running into each other there were so many! He said it smelled so foul because the woman was about 400 lbs and had to use a wheelchair to move around because her legs wouldn't support her anymore, and because of that she never picked up the bathrooming mess...of 50 dogs! The thing that upset me even more is that she has a couple "good dogs" as she calls them, and she shows them! And she's won before! This woman, who in my opinion is a filthy, devious (I mean how could she know true sires with conditions like that), puppy-milling individual and yet she's out there showing her dogs! I asked my friend's boyfriend to get the info on this person. I feel I should file a report for animal cruelty or something. I think such a situation is not at all good for the dogs! What do you guys think?

I think the best I may be able to do is get the address (unless I want to chance the walking up to the garage and listening for the barking. This person supposedly doesn't let people in her home (that buy pups from her) and I don't personally know her, just someone I know does. I hope he gives me their info though. The conditions sound terrible.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | That's SO SAD and the Health Dept AND THE ASPCA would come in and rescue those poor dogs - I would report it....you can do it without anyone knowing and pictures help TONS.... Call your local ASPCA and they'll tell you what to do but it sounds like someone needs to step in quickly ....they may have shelter but they are living in very unsanitary conditions....at the very least - the woman would be FORCED to clean up before the dogs get seized...... GOOD LUCK ! |

50 dogs is way too much to handle . You should take this person's address and see what is going on . If it is really a bad place , report it . Sound like a puppymill to me .

It does sound dreadful . I know you don't know the person, but I'd try to check it out first if he gives you the address. Maybe go and tell the woman you heard she has a LOT of Yorkies and you may be interested in one (it wouldn't be a lie because you are interested in ALL of them). Anyway, you'll be there and should get a feel for how many you hear barking. Then when/if you call ASPCA you will be going on more than what they may consider "hear say". If this truly is the case, how on earth would she even know puppies were born? Not to mention all the other terrible crimes toward the dogs!
