Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I love her BUT.... She is SO bad..lol...Cute but BAD....... She will not let the other 2 dogs eat at all unless she eats first...She steals their treats really fast... she is chewing on my chairs in the kitchen...yes she has LOTS of toys....And She was doing great with potty training But she decided that she can pee in the kitchen where ever she wants now...So we're crate training her now. lol did i mention she is only 21 weeks.... Any advice would be very helpfull.... Reguardless I still love her with all my heart!!

| Oh my, sorry new mom here so no words of advice . Just a hug I guess. I thought Mia, almost 5 months, was doing great with potty training until I went in guest bath to wash the floor. Picked up rug and notice pee stains. I never go in there so door is now CLOSED |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Maybe you're being too lenient? Try being more assertive and firm. Show her you are the boss of her not the other way around hope this helps. I don't have two other dogs but i'd say if she gets more attention she feels she should get treated better as well. Make all the dogs feel equal.

| I don't know much, but I've read here that only give them a treat after they go potty. After their trained, then treats can be given more often. Hope that helps. |

YT Addict | Dangerous territory when they won't let others near their food. Could cause true problems down the road. Have you attempted to take the food from her when she's eating? If not but you would like to try use soemthing other than your hand to reach for the food first, just in case. Establishing true alpha behavior on your part will help as well as others here have stated. Potty training is very difficult with ANY pure breed...no idea why but it took my Gizmo almost 7 months to get it. Patience, love and some simple games should help as well. I got a very short hard cover book on Yorkshire Terriers and studied. It included first aid, training (simple tricks), grooming, etc. As soon as I can find it I will post the title for you. |

| My Bella is the same way, with the treats, she snatches them away from Shay so fast, makes my head spin...lol she is a BRAT! but love her to death.. I would do what the others say and take the lead more..I had to be more forceful with Bella, then I ever had to with Shay, like children they all have different personalities... Bella is 3 1/2 months and potty pad trained, I cannot take the credit for it though, Shay kind of took over and she followed his lead....lol..

| B%#!ch for a reason...just kidding Females are so harsh! I have a 1 year old male Schnorkie, 2 1/1 year old male Yorkie and my boyfriends medium sized (get this) Rhodesian Ridge-back whippet cross) were all bullied by my 5 month old mini schnauzer who was smaller than all of them. She was water aggressive, weird I know she would torpedo them from across the room and use her head like a ram to get where she wanted and take what she wanted. i would pick her up take away whatever and put her on time out. finally she realized that having to go to her kennel or her play pen or just in my arms wasn't the result she wanted, schnauzers are especially stubborn dogs and females are so much more domonant and territorial! I have separate feeders for all of them as they get different food sfor their ages and weights and health needs, which curbed the food issue, persaverance is key! Will she let you handle her when she eats? If she's agro with you too when you pet her or take her food then its a food agression issue, if not its just a sdominance issue, as far as the potty training and chewing, she's a puppy you just have to be firm and Consistant, consistant, consistant, Princess (the mini schnauzer) chewed everything! She's been here a couple months now and is finally undering stadnign "drop it" "don't touch" and "get your...ball/rope/squeeker etc" I teach them the name of their toys, tricks are great too not just to teach your dogs tricks like sit, lay (I don't do lay down as it confuses them with down) roll over walk..because trick training occupies their minds and makes them focus and listen in order to get a reward, harnessing their energy in a positive way really cuts down the rest of the issues. Puppies are hard, their like toddlers with ADHD you can't give em chocolate...seriously I watch all kinds of dog shows, liek dog whisperer, me or the dog, dog 911 etc for tips and such and entertainment not to mention all the training videos you can watch for free online, GOOD LUCK! |
