WOW you must have really strong allergies as yorkie are far from having the same coat as other dogs...they are closer to our hair then anything else. Are you sure it is your baby and not something different you have been doing?? I really don't know what you can do, GO CRAZY ON BENADRYL??? lol jk I really hope you find the cause of this it would be sad losing your baby over this?? Good Luck!!

| How old is your Yorkie and is your dog a purebred Yorkshire Terrier? If you think you so, are you absolutely sure? I only ask because Yorkies do not have fur like other dogs and very seldom cause allergy problems. It is rare if they do.

| Try Zyrtec Zyrtec is an over the counter antihistamine that is taken only once daily. I take it at bedtime, it doesn't cause daytime fatigue and works wonders for my allergies. If that doesn't help, you may want to consider seeing an allergist. BTW, it is often dander, not fur, that causes the allergic reaction. |

| 1st of all calm down. Yorkies are hypoallergenic and while they still shed some dander, not enough to make anyone with a slight dog allergy suffer. However, your puppies dander may not be what is causing your allergies. You may be allergic to any product that has been applied on your puppy's fur. For example. I always thought I was allergic to my mother in law's poodle... I would get so itchy, get runny eyes and nose, and sneeze like crazy. Poodles are also hypoallergenic dogs so I had the allergist run an allergy test on me. I am not allergic to dogs, however I am allergic to dust and dust mites which can be on her fur. I did discover later when I used my MIL's shampoo to bathe our puppy that I am deathly allergic to that stuff! I actually got hives from where it came in contact with me. I have also heard of people being allergic to Frontline and Advantage - so, try to eliminate your possibilities. Do you have an allergist who could maybe test you? Good luck! |

A few things you can do, is not allow your new puppy to sleep in your bedroom. Wash your hands after petting him. Keep your house very clean. Buy an air purifyer. If none of that helps, talk to your doctor. Good Luck! | |

| Maybe it's your Yorkie's shampoo or conditioner? Try a non-scented shampoo/conditioner, maybe that will help. |

| What kind of reaction are you having. If you are having hives it could be from their saliva. I am allergic to my sister's dog saliva. The allergist told me I am not allergic to dogs, but that I am allergic to some dog's saliva. He also said that it might not be breed specific. That it just depends on the dander and stuff from his mouth. He said that cats lick themselves more and get their saliva on their fur where dogs don't do this as much. I guess that is why I am deathly allergic to cats but not dogs. So if he is licking you a lot and you are getting hives, it could just be as simple as not letting him lick you |

| I have had one person who purchased a puppy from me last year that was very allergic to her puppy. She ended up in the hospital with a severe asthma attack and she is highly allergic to dogs. Her allergist has tested her and it is the proteins that the dog excretes in its saliva. I took the puppy back and refunded the money to her. She had told me she grew up allergic to dogs and cats and was happy that yorkies are hypoallergenic. I told her then that no dog is 100 percent hypoallergenic and to give it a try. It proved to be one of the 10 percent or so of allergic people that react strongly to the saliva. She had to get her house cleaned and do all the linens etc that the puppy had mouthed. SO if that is your allergic reactions there is not much you can do but return the puppy. However if it is just the allergic rhinitis type (water eyes, itchy ears, runny nose, itchy eyes) and you want to take Zyrtec that may work. But remember it may be for life and those meds are not cheap. Sorry |

| Try a chamomile tea rinse or just wipe him down with a cloth soaked in chamomile tea, it deactivates allergens. |

| I totally agree with many others here. I thought I was becoming allergic to Maddy, but it turned out to be a new detangler we bought and that the pollen was just worst for a few weeks. Getting my Flonase (nasal spray helped a lot).

| Please all of you who have pet allergies, try the chamomile tea. It is safe and non-toxic for your pet and healthier for you then allergy meds. I use it and it works wonderfully. |

| Strong allergies is what i'm thinking too. I have some pretty bad allergies during the summer months and Ella doesn't make them act up a bit. Yorkies are supposed to be one of the most hypoallergenic dogs because of their human like hair. It's very strange that your allergic to your baby. I hope things get better so you can keep him. =]
