Yorkie Yakker | Baby teeth..?? Ok, so Bronx is now 8 months old and he's pretty much lost all his baby teeth...except for the two "fangs" (not sure of the proper name). The adult ones fully came in but the baby ones haven't, so he has a total of 4 "fangs". We've given him different kinds of hard treats to maybe loosen them, but no go. Do I need to make an appointment at the Vet. to have them removed or will they eventually fall off? Is it bad for him to just keep them?

| Yes, make an appointment. Retained teeth can cause infection and decay to adult teeth.

YT Addict | It may not cost a pretty penny, when I had Bryan neutered they pulled out the one baby tooth he had left for $5.00! Check with the Humane Society in your area, they are very reasonable and let us know how things work out.

| Zeus had the same problem and he lost one of them at about 9 months. The other is still in and I wiggle it almost daily. If it doesn't fall out soon he will have to go under and have it pulled. |

Yorkie Yakker | One is really loose and if I try and touch it he tries to bite me and the other one is just tight in there...

| Maybe you can give him a bullystick to chew on and help the loose tooth fall out. Try and wiggle the other one that isn't loose. That is what my vet told me to do. |

| Have them do the baby teeth at the same time. It's better that way so they don't have to go under anesthesia twice. And it will be much less expensive that way.

Tia is 18 mths and still has one fang left in! Its very wriggley and like you I play alot of tug of war with her lol recently the vet said we will leave it a little longer as he didn't want to put her under for one tooth and see how it goes. I brush it religously.
