| Beware of Puppy Scam Beware of an ad on Yorkie sites claiming to be adopting Yorkie pups for $200 plus $90 shipping. It is a classic scam reported on many sites with almost the exact scenario and bad grammar. She says her name is Cindy Preston and claims to be in Riverdale, Georgia. Ask for a copy of her driver’s license and she will give you some lame excuse of being too busy. Act cautious and she will eventually give you a New York phone number which obviously transfers you somewhere else, probably India or Pakistan. The number she gives is 516-714-3194 and is registered to what appears to be a Pakistani name. She requires payment in advance through Moneygram and even promises to meet you half way with the puppy; after you’ve sent the money. If you want it delivered it will come to your door through American Airlines. AA does not provide door to door deliveries. Her writing is poor with type-O’s and bad grammar. I almost fell prey to her scam but did have the foresight to research her deal before sending money. I reported her scam to the Yorkie ad site and her membership has since been canceled while notices have been sent out to all members. I have also reported her scam to MoneyGram. The email she uses is: lcindy347@yahoo.com The following name and address was provided for sending the MoneyGram in advance: Name: Sherard Releford, 6690 Church Street, Riverdale, Georgia 30274. On a good note, I eventually located a Yorkie pup through a reputable breeder nearby. He is a cutie. Here is her answer after I asked how she would deliver the Yorkie and the request to see her driver’s license: Sure you will receive them overnight. I understand you thinking about scam. Am not scared of it coz am a cop and we do get many scam messages and reports of different sorts. I just gave you my office address too and suggested a pick up first. My major aim is for him to get adopted to a home that will love him and make him probably forget about me too. This is a legitimate deal and i don't take you wrong at all. You have to be sure about anything you do. It's okay to cross-check everything you do online. I have nothing wrong with that okay. You can also call me now on 5167143194 if you need to talk to me on phone to confirm too it's okay. I wait for you call. I can't scan my drivers license am very busy.. Thats the reason am giving the pups out in the first place. Am waiting for your call. Would appreciate if you would call me now..Thanks |

YT Addict | Well, that one really stands out as a scam. Thank goodness you didn't buy into it. I came across quite a few of those when I was looking for a yorkie. Thank heavens I found my little ball of fur with a local breeder.
