| Lose baby hair? Just wondering if the puppies loose some of they're baby hair and does it grow back in thicker or does it just depend on the parents? My other yorkie that I have had really thick hair when we got him and when we picked up our little girl the other night I commented on how fine and thin her hair was and they said she was loosing her baby hair. I guess I wasn't completely sold on her but my dh said that he wasn't leaving without her. I still love her but was just wondering. Maybe I should get her started on different food too they had her on Eukanuba. Any suggestions for puppy food? |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Your yorkies coat will depend on her parents. I got Ruby when she was five months old and she's always had a fine, thin, silky coat. Reno was 14 weeks old when I got him and he had a thicker, fluffy coat as a puppy, which is now more of what I consider a modified coat. Reno did lose some puppy coat, and the puppy mats were not fun to deal with. Ruby though never went through that stage. A good quality food and proper grooming, will help your yorkie's coat reach it's full potential, but won't produce what genetically isn't within the dog.

| Yorkie puppies do not actually lose their hair and grow a new coat. It changes as the puppy coat grows out.
