| I have great news! I ended up with a 3 pound Yorkie named Sara. i was very worried about her because she is half the size of my smallest dog,but she fit in well and quickly found her place in the pack at about 3rd. however i was still very worried because she is only 3 pounds and she keeps jumping around i am convinced that she is going to jump off the couch (that she climbed up) and break a leg. well she jumped off the kitchen chair and started limping so i had her in the vet 1st thing this morning and the vet told me that not only would she be fine odds are if she can jump up she can jump down but he also told me that she is a little under weight and she should be closer to 4 pounds this makes me happy because i know how to treat a 4 pound dog Gatsby was stuck at 4 pounds until he ahd a growth spurt and shot up to 6 this might not seem like such great news to everyone else but to me it is fantastic. and i just wanted to share my happiness (by the way her leg was fine she stopped limping in like 15 min but by that time i had her in the car on the way to the vet)

| I have the same issue with my baby! Sasha is 3 lbs and the vet wants to see her at 3.5 lbs at least, as she's a little underweight. What are you doing to put some weight on your baby? I'm feeding Sasha 3 times a day (I would free feed, but I can't be there to watch her every second, as I'm potty training her, and I don't want her to have accidents). Are there any snacks or anything you recommend to put some weight on her... BTW this is to the OP but if anyone else can suggest something I would appreciate it!

| i started home cooking and you would be amazed at how much that helps. i did this for my other dogs and in a matter of weeks they wear getting chubby Sara has not started home cooked food yet because she has eaten kibble her whole life and im slowly changing her. but i really think that it will help her too

| well Sara eats about a half cup of kibble i started out only giving her 1/4 of a cup but she stole other peoples food and got sick because she was not used to it she dose not seem to like the home cooked food but i hold out hope the funniest thing now is my other dogs wont eat kibble unless its there special teeth cleaning kibble.

YT Addict | I remember reading that some of you mix yogurt in the kibble. That is what I give my babies in the morning. They lick up all the yogurt and don't touch the kibble. I sure hope this is OK for them.

| I know how much of a worry it is. This little 5 month old female we got is only 2 lbs. she can jump very good while my Mickey 4lbs can hardly make it on the 4th - 5th try if he doesn't use the steps. she has no problem with making it on the couch, we do have steps and she does use them half of the time. but not when getting down, and when she jumps down its like she jumps straight out then down. she has hurt her leg yelping out a few times now. and it worries me so much. Im home most of the time and can keep an eye on her but even then she some times jumps before I even know it. |

| If you are going to homecook for your little one, please be sure to use a recipe that has been formulated by a nutritionalist.
