Yorkie Yakker | What told you..this is the one!! Hi everyone I'm currently looking at puppies..I was just wondering what was the thing that told you "this is the one for me". I know what I'm looking for as far as qualities in a pup. But I was just interested in what really made your decision for you. Was it a specific thing, a certain look, something the puppy did or did not do or maybe just the look he or she gave you? I'm sure you guys understand what I mean...I would just like to hear your stories. What made you think of "all the puppies I've seen your the one!!!!"........Thanks guys......................Lisa |

| When I got Armani he was the only one left, so I was stuck with his little butt When I decided I wanted to get another I had pick of the litter... which basically meant 4 puppies were dropped in my lap and I was told to pick ONE...they were all so cute and cuddly and I didnt know which one I wanted, basically I wanted them all but I told myself I was taking a boy and taking one that seemed like it would be on the larger end of the standard... I held each one and they kissed me and then squirmed to get back down with their siblings... then just for fun I picked up the runt, a girl.. .she was too small and a girl, so I wasnt interested... she fell asleep in my arms and had no interest in anything else going on... well I took home the tiny girl

YT 2000 Club Member | When I held Jasmine, she immediately took my heart...and that is how I knew she was the one for me without a doubt. She was 8 weeks old (didn't know that was too young then), now a year old and my constant companion.

| I was originally looking for a girl. I found a beautiful little girl but she was absolutely hyper. I continued my search and found Darwin, I loved his looks and he fell asleep in my arms the first time I met him - I was hooked. I raised Bengals for years, they are an extremely active breed of cat and had my Doberman for 13 1/2 years. My Dobie was extremely hyper until she was four. I was ready for a calm, laid back pup and Darwin is perfect for us. He does his zoomies once in a while but he's not constantly moving. He has turned out to be exactly what I wanted. Good luck with your search! |

| It was the eyes! They were inquisitive but, soft. I fell in love instantly. I have just always known with pets! It's the one that makes your heart jump and you can't sleep until they are in your arms. |

| This is a good thread! Love the stories. For me, it was when the puppy was 3 weeks old. I was sitting on the floor with the two puppies in front of me. It was a tad chilly in the room. I had on this long sweater vest. One of the puppies crawled across my ankle and up under the sweater to rest asleep on my leg. When I lifted the sweater, the breeder snapped a picture. The puppy was so sweet. I loved the picture. I was sold.

| I got Gypsy from a byb. I did not know the red flags to watch for at the time. I just knew I wanted a yorkie and the first breeder I had talked to only had 1 pup unspoken for. Since my dtr and her now ex hubby was also talking to the breeder, I told them I would look else where. I did not really like the lady I was dealing with where I saw Gypsy, her attitude. I had been told they had 1 pup for 600 and the rest where higher. I went anyway. Turned out I had talked to the breeder's mom and the price was really 650.00. Hubby sd let's go, but just one look in Gypsy's eyes and I was hooked. I had to have her. I did have health problems with her and I would do things differently now. But I would not trade her for anything.

| I really wanted a girl and when I called the breeder, she had 2 girls. I went that night to put down a deposit (they were only 2 weeks old at the time) and as I was pulling up, another couple was leaving. They had just made a deposit on 1 of the girls, so that left the other for us. She was so young and tiny at the time, I couldn't tell what she would look like or how her personality would be.....but after waiting for weeks with anticipation, we drove out to pick her up, and when we walked in, there were 2 puppies in an x-pen. Obviously, I had no idea which one belonged to us. However, only 1 came to the edge and was jumping up excited to see us. We were filling our paperwork and I told my husband, I really hope that it's the one whos happy to see us. Then, the breeder walked over, and picked her up! It was like meant to be in a sense....she knew we were there for her. As soon as I got her in my arms, I was in awe. Shes my babygirl thru and thru and it worked out just as it was supposed too. Good luck on your search.

I sat in an office and she brought in #1 and #2. They were kind of timid. We went outside and one kinda spunked up, but I didn't feel that connection. then she brought #3 (Which was the one she had chosen for me). She took over the office and took over the yard, and I said "She's the one." My friend who went with me to get her won't let me complain about anything Maya gets in to here at home. He always reminds me that I picked the little bad one, so I got what I deserved.

| I knew I wanted a baby boy. I've always had boys. I had lost my 13 year old Chipper and had been crying since then. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to move on until I had another baby to love. I found a breeder checked her out and put a deposit on her up coming litter. Turns out that there were 3 baby girls in that litter. The breeder wanted to know if I was interested in a girl or did I want my deposit back. She said I didn't have to make a decision yet but once the puppies were 6 weeks for me to come and take a look at them. She said if I wanted one of the girls I could have the pick of the litter then. The 3 girls were absolutely beautiful and basically all looked the same except in size. There was a small, medium and large. I'm looking, thinking the small one is so cute. I'm sitting there with all 3 in front of me. I pick up the small one and medium jumps in my lap to play. I give both attention. Put both down little one walks away medium back in my lap. I set her aside pick up the large one and again medium girl jumps in my lap wanting all my attention. I fell in love right then and there with Piper (medium girl). When the day came for me to bring her home all three girls were still there and Piper (still medium sized) came running to me. It's as if she knew all along I was her mommy. I always tell people I didn't pick Piper out she picked me. I'm sure you'll know when you see your special baby that you're meant to be together.

| When we got Katie it was a choice boy or girl, she only had the two. I wanted a girl after Arnold and she's the sweetest. Suzi was one of six, same breeder. I cuddled them all and decided on her. Good luck with your choice. hugs Shirl x x |

| You just know it, I guess. I got Buddy from a private pet store Didn't know about puppymills at the time. When I saw this big beautiful boy with the sad brown eyes I had to get him out of that crate and take him home. I also went out for a female |

| I got to pick from the litter first. They were all three boys, and a boy is what I wanted. Two of the brothers looked like twins and were so tiny and similar. I ended up picking Knox because his face was so different. He also seemed more laid back. When his brothers would play and act crazy he would just give them his 'tough look', like what are yall doing....I am too cool for that. (lol)
