| Too late to crate her? Sweet Pea is queen of the house and she knows it. From day one she slept in the bed with my daughter. We tried to crate her the 1st night she got here, but she whined, cried and the whole crate was "jumping" off the floor (with her in it) so my daughter gave in and put her in bed with her. We have been pee pad training her from day one, and i'm lucky (unlucky) enough to be at home everyday so i thought she was potty trained as she went on the pad for over 4wks with no accidents. We used a small tiled room that was gated and i or my daughter were there with her all the time, then gave her more space as she continued to use her pee pads. Now almost 1year later Sweet Pea is on my bed and she peed on it, she looked right at me as she did it.....gggrrrrrr...she did the same on my daughter's bed 2 wks ago. There are steps up against my bed and my daughter's bed so Sweet Pea can climb up onto our beds as she wants to. We have pee pads on the floor in both rooms. We have a pet gate set up so Sweet Pea can only go into my room or my daughter's room so she doesn't have control over the whole house. We don't leave her in our rooms when we aren't in there with her. We take her out for walks around the block almost everyday. I don't know what to do. I told her "bad girl" and took away my steps for a full day so she can't climb up in my bed and i did the same to my daughter's bed. All yesterday she went on her pee pads. So today i let her come back up to my bed. What is going on with her, other than being spoiled?? She is a little over 1yr old should i start crating her to get her to potty trained again? Or should i go back to "square" one and keep her in a small tiled room with pee pads and watch her 24/7??? Thank You,

| I wouldn't resort to the crate at this point, but in my non-expert opinion , you are correct to keep her off of your beds and confine her to tiled areas of the house. Hopefully limiting her freedom and keeping a close eye on her will refresh the correct potty training. |

| Forgot to add, when she does things correctly, praise her profusely and never stop giving praise. I believe praise is key to maintaining good potty habits. |

| I know my Twinkie is a little younger, almost 7 months, but she went through the same thing about a month ago. I told her "No", picked her up and placed her on the potty pad. I said "potty" when I placed her on the pad. I did that the entire day even when she was being good. I praised her to high heaven! She hasn't made a mistake since. When she does go potty on the pad, I try to praise her right away. She loves my high voice! Who knows why they do what they do! Lol...maybe she was upset that day! hahaha |

| Oh yes i forgot to say that we do praise her and treat her when she goes on her pad. If we catch her in the "act" we will say "NO" and pick her up and place her on the pee pad while telling her to go "potty or pee pee" Thanks for all your help.
