| A Vet or groomer can show you how to do this or do it for you. When my dog scoots he usually has some poop still on his rear hair and I know it is time to trim his rear again. |

| Yes, anal glands may be the problem. The only time all three of my dogs scooted was when they had tapeworms. Have you checked her stool lately? Also like zekie's mom said, she may have some fecal matter stuck to her fur.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey scooted as a puppy, and the vet said that some puppies don't push hard enough when they poop to empty their glands and the liquid builds up, it's a very simple procedure, but it should be done correctly or you can push the contents further back and this can lead to impaction.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Sounds like anal glands. Watch the vet do it, and look for the signs in a couple of weeks or a month, it could be a one-time thing, but some dogs have reoccurring problems. We added fiber to the diet and Joey doesn't have the problem anymore, I don't know if the fiber was what did it, or he outgrew it.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Cindy, if you do that, do you need to refrigerate the sample? How many hours is it good?
