email from Africa I received an odd email from an unknown individual doing missionary work in Africa. Supposedly she took her Yorkie with her, the little one is not fairing well. The woman is looking for somebody to adopt the dog...or so the story goes. Has anybody here received a similar email? I don't know where she got my address from and thought she may have somehow hijacked it off of Yorkie Talk site. Thanks, judyann |
Dont reply...its spam |
Yes, its a scam, hard telling where they got your email address from. |
Scam!!! This is a flat out scam I almost got caught in. It was about a year ago. Turns out they want you to pay shipping fees which can total up to $1000s. I reported them to the local authorities because the scammers ran an ad in our state newspaper. I also filed a complaint with the newspaper because I felt they should have done a better job verifying the information. I was so hurt because we had prepared for the new baby and to find out the scammers were taking everyone they could for all they could. Some people will do anything for money. Don't fall for it. :thumbdown |

We've seen this before, absolute scam. Rest assured, they cannot get your email from YT though. |
:thumbdownBig time scam. It'll usually be Nigeria or Cameroon, always the same story. Came here as a missionary, our "beloved little angel" isn't doing well, perfect dog, just pay shipping.... You'll see the ads a lot on Craigslist too. |
Been a Victim Unfortunately, when I was 17 and didn't know better. I fell for it and I lost $500, which could have bought me a yorkie!! They tell you to wire money to them through western union for "shipping" and then "the airline needs this and that so he needs more money". They don't stop until you realize it's fraud!!! I was SOOO PISSED AND HEARTBROKEN. I really wanted a yorkie and lost so much money! After that, I didn't have any money so I had to buy a chorkie and the breeder charged me $400 for the chorkie!! I thought, back then, if I had a number which I can contact the person with (in Nigeria) then it wouldn't be a fake. BOY WAS I WRONG!! |
