Senior Yorkie Talker | This may sound crazy but oh well... I just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant, and I started crying last night when I was looking at Reese, because she is the only love that I have known like loving a child, and now that I will be having a baby, I keep feeling like, I will be neglecting her once the baby is here. Its just so sad, and its really been making me upset, I know I will love her the same, but she just won't have all my love like before. I don't know maybe im crazy.

| Oh Sweetie....CONGRATS! When I got pregnant with my second child, I had the same feelings you are. I had a horrible time with the idea and was very emotional. How could I ever love two as much as I loved my first.....would I have enough time energy and love for them both...etc. You will be surprised just how easily things work out and fall in to place. You will be a great Mom to them both.

| I think its the same as being a Mommy to one SKIN baby then becoming pregnant again. You have enough love to go around...but you will still feel some guilt while your "figuring it all out"! HTH and congratulations!!

| Don't know if this is the same... but I felt the same way when I got my 2nd Yorkie... thought I'd be neglecting the first. I was surprised... there is more love in my heart now, esp since I now have 4! They come to me individually when they need a hug or to be held... the rest of the time they seem very content. I think your Yorkie will understand you putting your child first, as long as you can still find a few moments throughout your day to make special time just for her... Oh and congratulations!

| If this is going to be your first baby I will have to say that you will probably still have lots of time for your pup. I remember when my daughter was just a few months old I had bought a new puppy and with having a baby, they do sleep alot. I was never one to nap when my daughter did, she was a pretty good baby sleep wise at night. So I had lots of time to give to my dog. Right now I have an almost 6 year old Step son who is here every other weekend, 3 and a half year old daughter, 3 dogs and 1 parrot. I have time for all of them and they all gets lots of attention. I would LOVE to have another baby but I do have some of those concerns as well, I think it comes natural as a mother to worry. Last edited by yorkie_mama22; 02-16-2010 at 12:36 PM. |

| Oh Sweetie, It's just the homrones. Those are very normal feelings, but it will all work out. You will learn to feed the baby with a yorkies on your lap. |

| I'll betcha that Reese will love the new baby just as much as you do, and that will make it so much easier for you. Congratulation, and have a happy and healthy 9 months!
