| Car Behavior I noticed when I'm driving on the freeway, Otis curls up in a little ball in the corner of his car seat. But once he hears the signal blinkers or if my tires go over the lane separator bumps, he jumps up and starts doing his Stevie Wonder dance because he knows I'm changing lanes or signaling to get off the freeway and we are close to reaching our destination!! I tested him by randomly turning on my blinkers.... and sure enough, he jumps up every time! Does anyone else's Yorkie do this? |

| Nemo won't stay still Mine Nemo is the total opposite, he just wil not stay still, he wants to be by the window on me, by my neck , I always end up putting him on his crate until we get to our destination, just because he won't stop moving, Sorry I have complete the opposite problem you do. |

I know this is dangerous, but he refuses to be crated. I'm no help to you but that's cute Debbie Doo & Smokie |

| Car Ride Princecharlie 10! My dog is just like yours! She is just terrible in the car. She will whine, bark ,jump around and the last straw was when she jumped into the steering wheel spokes. So, I made a car seat out of a plastic foot stool bolted onto a plastic office box and put a short leash on it and seat belt it to the backseat of the car. She howled and whined and put up a terrible fit. The last couple times I've taken her, she has been a lot better. I will not relent in this, because it is just not safe to have her jumping around the car. I am sure she will get use to it in time. She wants to go and jumps and runs to the car, but the minute it starts rolling, she becomes a pest. But, like I said, she is getting better. |

| With my job of being self employeed and travel appx. 4-5 hours per day Schatzie has got her routine down pat!. Heading to the hwy on our dirt road she knows this is "bark at cows time" and is dancing in my lap. Once on the hwy and heading to the freeway she talks to me in her little Yorkinese language while sitting in her carrier. Once on the freeway she curls up and takes a nap. Once off the frwy and in town (lane changes with the sounds of turn signals) she thinks it's playtime and tosses toys around, chews on biscuits, and is somewhat has the attitude of an antsy 2 year old who is bored and wants to go home! (Can tend to drive me nuts and have to remind myself to pay attention to my driving as I really do know Im gonna hit something someday satisfying Schatzie's play and snack needs) She finally settles down on the frwy heading home...Day after day M-f we do this. We both are looking forward to the day of sitting on the couch all day eating bon-bon's !! Believe it or not, today Schatzie didn't get to go with me as I gave her a bath and she was not fully dry so didn't feel comfortable taking her out in the cooler temps being somewhat damp. Boye! When I got home she kinda acted sad like "heah you forgot me this morning". I felt sad and guilty seeing the look on her face.

| At 1st whenwe brought LUIGI home, he did so great on the car ride home. It was an hour ride. He just laid down and watched everything. But closer to home he started to get anxious. Then the trip to the vet was ok also. Then poor baby kept getting sick. SO Every car ride after for about 2 weeks stait were to the vet. He must have known. He would shake uncontollably. So I let him on my lap and out of his cage. So after all those episodes, when he was feeling better, I would say"Let's go for a car ride!!!" and of course he would run and hide, thinking we'd be going to the vet again. But I would just go to the bank and to the car wash( which he loves!!!) Places where we didn't have to go out of the car. Then I added the pet store which he loves also!! Then we'd go visit friends and stuff!!!Now I say let's go for a ride and he runs to the garage door and starts jumping and wagging his tail!!! He loves car rides !!! Loves to look out the window, but he has to be on my lap!, Which I am not too comfy with but we know our babies, they love to have it their way!!!! |

| I think it depends on Yoda's mood. Usually he sits up and enjoys the scenery, but if he is tired and has been playing, he'll just lay and sleep there like a little angel he is! Yeha, right! |

| I am sooooo glad that Tinker isn't the only one that freaks out in the car. Tinker is nuts in the car sometimes. She freaks out when the blinker comes on, and always wants to see out the window even if it means doing a balancing act on my shoulder. I don't let her do that anymore because she could get hurt, but the first time she did it it was sooo funny and to see other people's expressions when they see a 2 1/2 lb dog plopped on my shoulder was classic. Lately she has figured out when the windshield whippers come on. Even if it is just a tiny sprinkle she willl get all tense, stare at the windshield, and try to jump on the dash. She's nuts =). I think I need to get one of those doggy care seats ans strap her in, which I know she'll hate. I wish I had a video camera so I could show y'all her freaking out. It is hilarious!! |

| When I get my pics developed I will try to post the car seat I made for Snoodles! It is high enough that she can see out of the window. It cost all of about $10. It works just wonderfully! Pat |

| Maddie is an angel in the car, she just sits in the back and lays there or will look out the window when I stop. Rudy is a mad man, he is all over the place, which is very unsafe. Found a good seat belt that hooks to the harness on www.petedge.com, that looks like it would be good, they can move around as long as you make the belt. Great price to $4.99 + shipping. It is called Guardian Gear # zw61107. I had order the small size but the strapes hook was to heavy I thought. The strap can just be hooked to your dogs own harness...............Cindy |

| Joey is great in my car. He just lies on my passenger seat and doesn't say a peep. He loves the heated seats too. Any Audi/VW driver knows that these cars have the best heated leather seats. Joey hates being left in the car though. Even if its just to fill up with some gas. He gets all wild as soon as he hears the hand break go up, because he knows that msot likely I am getting out. |

| Cindy! Went to the sight. Thanks for sharing it with us. I asked for a catalog, as my husband won't allow me to buy off the net as my daughter's identity was stolen from Pay Pal and it was a nightmare. So glad they had a catalog. Can you take off the hook part and sew a lighter one on? That's what I would do if it is too heavy. Thanks! Pat |

| My lil Austin LOVES car rides, and is very aware of where he is - everywhere we go! He loves his vet and anytime we are near his office, he just starts wiggling and giving me kisses. The cutest thing he does is when I take him along to pick up fast food. I order what I want and as soon as I tell the drive thru window people "and thats all", he lets out a single *bark*. Its as if he is telling them what he wants as well. He also loves it when we have to stop at a railroad crossing and wait for a train to pass. He can hear trains from our house, but never knew what they were until we had to wait for it to pass one day. You could tell a little light went off in his head when he finally got to see the train. Now when he hears a train coming, he gets so excited and looks for his harness and leash-and if he can get to one he will bring it to me and BEG to go for a car ride!
