| Warning to all yorkie parents in central park area!!! This morning I went to the central park with my babies(4 babies) and BF as usual. It is leash free before 9, so puppies can run around freely... We walked around the park and when we got to the 110 & lennox ave exit, we met this guy and he kept asking us questions about his dog. He told us how his dog was sick and I felt really bad, so I tried my best to give him advise and even told him to check out YT for experience Yorkie moms.... and I just realized that one of our baby(Mini wore blue jacket) was missing! I was so shocked and yelled at my BF to go to the exit to check if anyone took her(Mini) meanwhile the guy kept talking to me and kept saying "I didn't see any dog wearing blue" I just ignored him and ran to opposite direction and people were pointing at this guy with black jacket. When I ran after him calling mini, he dropped something blue and it was Mini!!!!! Those two guys(one who talked to us and the other who took mini) must be together! Yorkie parents who go to Central park in the morning, please be careful. Unfortunately there are bad people in the park. I'm always careful with my babies, but it just happened so fast! Thanks god I got my mini back, and I really really hope those guys wouldn't try to steal other poeple's babies again!!!!

| OMG!!! These people will do anything...Thank goodness you were quick and there were some good citizens there to point out the thief! What a close call...I don't live in NYC, but it makes me think twice about being alone at doggie parks since I suppose this really could happen anywhere at anytime.

| OMG that just freaks me out. How wonderful that you were able to get your lil mini back. I wonder how many babies those two have gotten away with stealing. Did you report it to the police? That is just the scariest thing ever. Thank goodness there were bystanders around who saw what was happening and helped you out. I know you must still be trembling after that kind of scare.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I'm going to post this in the showing section as many here are going to NYC for the dog shows. I don't know if central park is near the New Yorker but still. Good to know and so happy you got your baby back!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Wow - you were so lucky she wasn't stolen ... Good thing you noticed right away - That sounds like a theft ring either in the making or already going strong. You could also contact your news - they'll sometimes do a segment regarding things like this - it could happen in ANY park and you probably made people much more aware with your post. Man people SUCK ! Stealing pets is such a lowlife thing to do |

| Thank you everyone, I was so shocked and scared for my babies, so I just got her and went back home ASAP. I looked back to see if the guy who talked to me was still there, and of course, he wasn't there, so I couldn't report it to the police, but I'm definitely reporting it to the park secury. I'm still so scared for my babies, so I'll skip the park for today. For people who are comming to the dog show in midtown, central park starts in 59th street and ends 110th street. If you want to take your babies to the park, make sure that you keep them short leashed. I've been taking them to the park for more than 2yrs now and this was first time something like this happened, so I don't want to scare people. However, I rather be safe than sorry. I don't want anyone to even come near my experience. It is just too much. I already warned other dog owners at the park, so we can watch out for each other.

| NYer is a few blocks away and most exhibitors don't take their dogs out of the hotel (unless they're going to Westminster, then they're crated) or to the park. For some reason these Yorkies are a valuable commodity.

| Your so very fortunate to have gotten Mini back. These kinds of sicko's work in two's. One to distract you while the other is robbing you of something. Oh I am so happy she is still with you. That was way too close. Hugs, |
