Senior Yorkie Talker | Doggie Names! What is your doggie's name, and what made you name him/her that? My Dog's name is ZZ, it came from ZERO because the scales wouldn't register anything when she was born. We have came up with many nicknames to go along with ZZ. "Sleepy" ZZ Top for her Top knot. I could go on and on. BUT more about you all. Make it as short or long as you would like, we are all family here! Love you all! =)

| My husband looked at my baby and said "her name is Lola" He's not sure where that came from but it's perfect. Lola's full name is Lola Grace. I had a list of names for my 2nd girl that I had only seen photo's of. The breeder I adopted her from met me half way in NJ to spare me a six hr. ride. I sat anxiously waiting for "penny" but when the breeder arrived and put her in my arms my heart melted and she was not a penny....she is a "Leah". I couldn't decide on a middle name so being born in May she is Leah Mae! |

| My Yorkie's name is Josh. Sometimes, I call him Joshie. I named him Josh, because the name sounds sweet like him. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | What a precious story about Leah!! I want to get another one so bad but my mom won't let me right now. Maybe after I finish college? Hmm maybe. I have often tried to name pets before I meet them but I always end up changing their names a hundred times. I have a kitty named Josh I call him Joshwer sometimes when he's getting into trouble but Josh has always been a "calm" name too me as well!

| Our girl's name is Kona. We vacation in Kona, Hawaii every year and I just thought the name fit her - plus it reminds me of my favorite place besides home. I have a few nicknames for her as well. She gets called Little and Bug a lot by me. My DH often calls her Babydoll!

| My yorkie is named Sophie because I thought it was a cute and not super common name but when I joined I saw that many others had the same name. When I went to the breeder I was looking for a semi mellow puppy. As I went for my visit to see the available puppys I saw my sophie, who was no where near mellow but I knew I had to have her. Shes not what I went for but shes what I came home with and I would never change a thing about her. |

| well my baby's name is Gatsby Bogart like The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald and Humphrey Bogart the actor when i went to get my baby i was going for his sister and only litter mate. when i got there and seen his little face i fell in love and had to have him the people who put a deposit on him showed up right after me and they had wanted the girl but i got there first it did'nt take much convincing and we traded the breeder's daughter told me i should name him something with a sir and show him he was soo pretty i never did that but he is still pretty. i did not even know that i was getting a dog until that morning(he was a grad present)so i hadent thought of names but when i got home the little guy walked out of his cage and tinkled on my copy of The Great Gatsby i was so upset the book represented a transition for me and was veery special i yelled D*mn it Gatsby and he looked up at me and walked over and licked my feet i still dont know why i said it but that was just who he was. then a few weeks later in our first house we wear watching the maltese falcon starring humphrey bogart and evrytime Bogart said something his little ears wold pirk up and he would stare so i named him The Great Gatsby Bogart what i think the funny thing is that we expected him to be 12 pounds a great big yorkie but he stopped at 5.5 however his personality is still great big

| My little guy is named Pele' after the soccer player. We named him this because my boys both play soccer and it's quite a unique name. We will be getting a little girl soon also and have some name ideas

| I wanted to name my boy Winnie, for Winston Churchill, and Winnie means "friend." My father looked at his picture and decided Winnie wasn't strong enough. Dad dubbed him "Maximo," a.k.a. Mad Max, Maxie, and the Maxster. Whenever Maximo has a wild day, I blame Dad. |

| I have 3 boys (2 yorkies and a cat) and they are all named after Jimi Hendrix. I have a Jimi, a Marshall, (that is his middle name) and a Hendrix. People must think I'm nuts.. I even dressed Jimi up as Jimi Hendrix this past Halloween.

| Jackson originally came about because of Johnny Cash's song "Jackson" after watching the Walk the Line movie. When he was a young pup, my aunt joked and called him "Jackson Five" and I was always a fan of Michael Jackson so it fit perfect. I call him Stonewall Jackson as a joke sometimes too, lol. I don't know what it was, that name just FIT him from the first picture I saw of him. I went through others but none stuck like Jackson did. I would love to keep my 2nd dog (in the future!) in relation to the Jackson's but I can't think of any others?

Our baby boy is Sir "Calvin" Rocky. We call them Calvin and Hobbes, my son's favorite cartoon. Rocky was the breeders nick name for him.
