Sounds like he doesn't like the food you are feeding him...you may have to experiment.

| Before Sophie was spayed, I had to practically beg her to eat. What food are you feeding?

| I would start by feeding him a little at a time, maybe start by measuring a 1/8 th. This way you will know exactly how much he is eating and when. If that still doesn't work try changing the food. I have two picky eaters.

| He's growing and thinning out. My Lola is long and slender, although my boy Zach is the same size as her, he is much more sturdier AND weighs less. |

That's how mine were pretty much. Eat a bit and go, come back and eat some more. I just switched mine to Acana and they eat at least half a cup in the morning and snack some more at night. They love it! | |

| Wow, that is a lot of food. All of mine are eating about a 1/2 a cup of kibble a day (with some veggies and a few treats). I spread it out over 2 feedings so at each meal they get 1/4 cup. Maybe you should try doing that.

| It seems to me that most people post that their yorkies eat 1/4 cup of kibble twice a day. Do you think he's eating about that much? Wellness is a great food. I wouldn't change

| Im new to the world of Yorkies as, my Dallas is an at well eater. I put about 1/2 cup of (Natures's Best chicken and brown rice) food in his bowl in the morning and he will nibble on it through out the day, I find that he eats more at night or when he comes home from a play date. he is a year and 3mths and is about 6pounds. Second of all whenever a dog is in a new environment they will not eat sometimes for 24 or 48 hours.......Tell your sister-in-law to butt out. But, each meal is 1/8 of cup of kibbles, along with steamed chicken.....others have wet food added and others have a bit of cheese....

| Each dog is different....some may have to be enticed more than others....a bit more work for you..but, until you find the food that he'll like, you may have to experiment. As I tell my new families....I'm sending them home with the food they are eating well, you are welcome to change it. However, wait until it's time to change the pup to adult food. But, keep in mind you can feed the best quality dog food your money can buy, but if the dog doesn't eat it, what good is it.
