| Bella, Our First Dog Ever, How About You? My husband and I have always been "cat people" and we had NO interest in being dog owners. In fact, we looked down on "dog people" and had no understanding of their overt signs of devotion. Then, we rehomed Bella at 6 months and our lives have been forever changed. We are now "they" and truly cannot imagine our life without her. We have dresses, dogbeds, fancy feeding bowls, a mobile in-home groomer, pet insurance, photos with Santa, car trips for Bella, doggie doorbells, etc. We are truly in love with our furbaby and can't imagine not having her. She has added so much love, life, and laughter to our home. If you are a first time dog owner, what has happened in your life since your furbaby came home? |

YT Addict | we got axel after 4 years without a dog, we had our last doggy snickers for 16 years had her at 6 weeks she was a boston, i have and still have her ashes on my dresser with her picture in a shadow box with pieces of her favorite blankets...anyway I sure didn't think I could go thru that again. Then one day I was in the bank and saw a lady with one of these little guys and started talking to her. I knew I didn't want another boston we travel alot and didn't want anoher 20 lb dog also didn't want the little short hairs all over my house. So I did my research on yorkies and fell in love! Axel is 4 months old and the such a sweetie, kissies cuddles etc...he sleeps in his own crate out in the living room and first thing in the am, we get him up he goes pee pee and comes in bed with me and hubby before we get up for coffee....we love it! we love him....check out his profile he is the cutiest. |

| I had cats growing up, my husband always had dogs. I never wanted a dog & while I didn't look down on dog people, I never wanted to play with their dogs and was always annoyed when their dog would jump up on me, bite at my ankles, etc. (Actually, I'm still annoyed when other people's dogs don't behave.) My husband started to work nights & since he's allergic to cats we decided to get a dog. He wanted a big slobbering one, but I wanted a small non-shedding dog. Winston loves to cuddle as much as my cats used to. He's excited to see me when I come home & when we wake up in the morning. I LOVE how affectionate he is. I don't LOVE waking up at 5:30 to walk him, but we have a routine now & he lets me go back to sleep for awhile afterwards. And he's my little baby so I couldn't imagine leaving him feeling uncomfortable. My friends joke that I need to have a baby because I show everyone pics of Winston in different outfits, take him to puppy parties & yes, pics with Santa. We've only had him since around Halloween, but he is such an important part of our lives. |

| I've never been a dog person. I would complain when dogs were around. They were a nuisance. Now I spend my weekends jumping from one doggie botique to the next making sure my baby is happy! It's amazing what having one of your own can do!

| Sounds like me as well. I never used to like dogs. A dog was once the last pet I though I would ever have. June 7th 2008 changed my life. That is when I met our first yorkie, my little Belle. I fell in love with her on first site, which I could not explain since I had never liked dogs before. Today we have 3 and I couldn't be happier. They are all spoiled rotten. I try to take at least one with me wherever I can. I love the bows, the dresses, the jackets! (thank goodness they like to wear them - or least don;t complain I've had a rough past year with losing 3 close members of family and I can honestly say that having Belle when it happened helped pull me through. they are very in touch with how we feel. When I was grieving, Belle was always at my side. Its like she knew I needed her to be there. When I cried, she would come out of nowhere and hop on my lap and look me in the eyes as to say hey i'm right here for you, pet me, you have my unconditional love forever mom. I am a "Crazy Dog Lady of YT". (Thanks Judy in Waco for starting it!) I would do anything for all three of my babies. They mean as much to me as my own skin kids to. :love :

| While Jackson is "my" first dog who is solely mine... I grew up with dogs and can't ever imagine life without them. We got Daisy, a Golden Retriever for my 4th birthday after much begging and pleading on my part. She was a wonderful family dog and very much part of the family. We added Sadie, a German Shepherd, when I was around 10 years old and we loved her so much, despite her behavioral issues (though no fault of her own). My grandma always had a dog around, my aunt did, my uncle did, dogs have just always been a huge part of my life. As a kid, I was obsessed with them... any dog related movie was my favorite, I had little dog figurine action figures, etc, lol. But Jackson is different than any other dog we've had... he's even more a part of the family. Maybe it's a yorkie thing.

YT 500 Club Member | We'd always had dogs and cats growing up they were family pets. The first dog I ever owned myself was a yorkie, a bigger boy of around 14lb, but what a dog. He would do anything asked of him and more. He was supposed to be my moms dog but bonded with me. Because of him I've been adicted to the breed for over 20 years and long may they own me. |

| I love the fact that you can be so sure about something like you are not a dog person, thus you will never get a dog. But once you do, it completely changes you! For the longest time I have been afraid of dogs! All sorts of dogs, not just the big, barking ones. And now that I have a dog, I went in a 360! |

| I grew up having dogs, but Couver is MY first dog. He is different than all of the dogs I had growing up... he is more like a son than a dog to me. He is spoiled rotten, taken more places than any other dog I know, and loved unconditionally. I have never felt this way about another dog... He is part of me, and I could not imagine my life without him. How my life has changed since adding Couver to the family: -Vacations have to be pet friendly. -I am outside a LOT more... taking him on walks, to the dog park and to the beach. -I never want to go anywhere without him... it is bad-- he goes everywhere! -I feel like I have more to live for! Couver makes me excited to wake up everyday. Couver has been a wonderful addition to our family, and I plan on having dogs for the rest of my life

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I guess I have to count myself amongst the cat lover converts! The only dog I ever had was when my children were very young & he just came up missing one day after about 2 years; we never could find him & I always assumed someone took him in after he went off on 1 of his wanderings. I always felt that dogs were, well, yucky. They lick you...ewwww, gross! I really can't begin to tell a non Yorkie person how much different this breed is than most of the other dogs I've been around. I CAN tell them this, not 1 day goes by that DH & I haven't told Tuffy how much we love him & neither of us could imagine life without him now.
