| Sophie Kate Scared The "You Know What" Outta Me Sophie Kate scared me to death this morning. Our routine every morning it I get up at 4:45, go to the gym while everyone is sleeping. When I return home around 6:30 am Sophie Kate is always waiting for me and we go outside for her morning walk. Part of this routine is she usually jumps up on a chair and I put her harness on her. For the last six months she has been jumping up to the back of the chair (it wide enough for her to stand on it). Well this morning she jumps up and decides to shake her body (not sure if that is what its called, but when they shake to fluff up their hair or get something off them) and BAM she fell off the back of the chair on to the hardwood floor. I screamed instantly and grabbed her and picked her up and started crying - it was so horrible to see. Well her Dad came flying down the stairs and attempted to get her out of my arms, when he finally managed after a lot of talking he put her down to see if she could walk - she could but she was limping. I instantly called my Vet who was still closed and told them I would be there when they opened and to call me if they get in earlier and then called my boss. After a vet check and x-rays it was determined that nothing was broken and she has a badly bruised hip. Thank You God. Let this be a lesson to me, she cannot climb up on the back of furniture ever again. I feel so guilty because I stood by and watched her fall, I could not catch her. I keep seeing it play back in my head. This evening Sophie Kate seems fine, full of kisses and love. She keeps trying to take the stairs and the Vet said NO STAIRS for at least a week. Thanks for listening, I am so lucky this time.
