| Yorkie with one eye and no teeth abandoned... My daughter's best friend, Lauren, works at a vet clinic with boarding. Lauren is a 20 year old single girl who is working 2 jobs-who is just in love with my Yorkies. She makes time almost every day to come and see Pippa and Scout, even when my daughter is not home. She is working 2 jobs right now to save for her next semester at the University to become a vet. That said, she was telling me about a Yorkie last night that she wants to adopt. "Danni" is a 9 year old female Yorkie that came in to board in August. She has one eye (don't know the story behind that) and had to have all her teeth removed. Lauren works 3 times a week in the boarding area and bonded with this little girl. Danni's mom was supposed to pick her up after 3 weeks of boarding and never came back to get her. She's been there for 6 weeks. Lauren wants to adopt her, but the clinic is still trying to find the owner to see if they can let her adopt Danni. They have been trying for weeks to find this person. I say Danni is abandoned....but I guess they have to do due dilligence. The only other problem that I've been trying to impress upon Lauren is that Danni needs lots of TLC-and a girl who is working 2 jobs won't be able to provide it, as much as she loves and wants Danni, it wouldn't be very fair to Danni. She's a smart girl-I think she's listening-I know she'd make a wonderful Yorkie mommy-LATER! Anyway, I don't know what will happen, but I will keep you updated!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | That POOR BABY !! Man...I HATE hearing stories about people abandoning their pets - Maybe something happened to the owner ? I think that baby needs a home ASAP ...Man...What happened to her teeth and her eye ? It almost sounds like neglect and a new home would be a VAST improvement...I sure hope she gets out of there and into a home very quickly - She needs to be with someone who will love her. It sounds like the owner could have at least called about her !! Your friend is in a tricky situation but it sounds like you are right - this yorkie may need someone who can devote more time to her - if she has no teeth - she'll need special feeding and with one eye - she may need extra loving...This is sad but I BET she ends up with a brand new mom to love her one way or another -

| Sweet thoughts go out to this little Yorkie in hopes to be home soon. Possibly the owner did not abandon Danni but maybe something happened?? Hopefully the vet can track down the legal owner and find some answers. If indeed the Yorkie was abandoned then I do so hope your friend adopts her. Your friend sounds like such a wonderful person.

| What a sad story!!! 6 weeks is a long time to be boarded anywhere I agree that she's going to need extra care in her new home and I hope she finds one VERY soon!

| My first thought as well was maybe the owner had an accident or something happened. Lauren said they called the woman's work who said she "moved to California". They are supposed to contact the Vet clinic if they get forwarding information. Lauren would be allowed to bring Danni to work with her at the vet's office, but when she works her other job from 6:30a.m. to 2:30, she would be home alone-but I guess that's not much worse than my dogs if I really thought about it!

| Poor little Danni! My heart goes out to her. I'm sure Lauren has a very strong bond with her. I know I would. And you are right, she would make a very good Yorkie Mom. It's great she can take her to work with her. But her second job leaves her away for a long time. It's true, being home alone is better than being in a crate all day, But Little Danni needs special care, and lots of love. I would think someone who has time & love to give this special baby is a must. I hope they find a forever home soon. Please keep us posted.

| Update on Danni...She has a home!!! Lauren said one of their clients at the clinic fosters rescues and at the moment had no dogs. She came to look at Danni and decided to adopt her, not just foster her! Yayyyy! It sounds like she will be in good hands. Thank heaven for small miracles

| Oh, good! I was feeling so sorry for that little yorkie and I got to the end and find she now has a home! I'll bet anything it's a lot better than the one she came from, too!

| You keep reaing horror stories about abandoned and mis-treated animals, and then you come across a story like this and it makes your day!! This has renewed my faith in human nature, to say the least. Lucky Danni. There still are great people out there, and I'm sure more than we realize. Hooray for the good guys! |
