☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Belly Bands Questions Am awaiting a new Yorkie and the selection day is not too far away. I want to know if all male Yorkies have to have a belly band or just un-neutered ones? And do the males "mark" even after neutering? Any information about belly bands and male Yorkies in general would be appreciated. |

| My neutered male will still lift his leg in the house occasionally, however he was neutered a little late (between a 1 and 1 1/2 years old). He doesn't do it a lot, but I notice it's usually when there is company (either person or animal) here, and when he's in a strange place (I will never have him at my mother in laws without a belly band again). I suspect it is related to him feeling the need to mark. That's really the only time I see him do it, otherwise, he goes potty outside or on the pee pads.

| Remy is 16 months old, not yet neutered He does not mark in the house and does not need a belly band. He was completely potty trained by 7 months, has lifted his leg since about 6 months. He was never crated, and had the full run of the house as soon as he was big enough to handle it. We used a pad until he was about 1 year old. IMO each pup is different and your training also contributes |

| I dont think all male dogs need belly bands... mine has never marked at all... however, he does have an excited urination problem which is why I ordered a belly band... some also use them for training purposes, putting them on when the dog cant be supervised. I would probably just wait and see how your little guy does first, and then order one if needed. |
