| PLEASE read this, For those of you that can Help Many of you know by now that my 5 yr old male Cookie is missing for the past 4 + weeks. This entire experience has made so many things happen. A lot of good has come from my grief believe it or not. Even though Cookie is not with me, because of him being missing I have reached out to reunite other Yorkies with their owners, I met amazing people and now I want to help a NO kill shelter in our County. They are the only one here. They are trying to build a building to house up to 40 dogs to roam free (No cages) Right now they are located about 15 miles or so from my house. Its a house with different gated sections for smaller breeds, puppies and larger dogs are all kept within their sizes. This is a nonprofit orginization. They survive solely on donations. I just got off the phone with the person who runs this place. Her name is Jay. I asked to see what are the plans to build the new big location and she told me that they had to change something in the building plans and they are waiting on the city to review this again.Their number is 772-873-4004 You know the city pays to run humane society and this is a kill shelter. But not 1 penny goes to NO KILL shelters and that is so sad and not right! I dont expect anyone to actually mail these items because shipping will be too much. Anyone interested in donating anything. It could be $5 or any amount. I will post your names and amounts received. Get these items and scan receipts. And actually take pictures of me donating these items on behalf of Yorkietalk members. She said the MAIN items they need: Canned Dog food Canned Cat food Bleach Cat litter Clothes detergent Garbage bags Towels They receive alot of dry food but not enough canned food. If you dont have Pay Pal, you could mail a giftcard from Walmart or PetCo, or PetSupermarket. I want to be able to get the items as cheap as possible so Walmart would be best. They would have to be mailed by this week Thursday or Friday the latest so I can visit them before Christmas. Let me know what you guys think? If you need my address please send me a private message or to get my pay pal email. I dont want to post it here. Thank you all, Gen |

| Hi! I wish I could help but cannot right now Money is super tight for us right now, since I lost my job back in September. I have a lead on a job, so hopefully I'll be able to pitch in real soon, tho. Bless you for thinking of other babies in need at this terribly difficult time in your life. I've been following your thread about Cookie and I know that you are moving mountains to find him I hope that your new little girl is helping to comfort you in some small way, until Cookie is found. Please let me know if you need any help hanging/distributing flyers or something like that. I am in Stuart, about 15 minutes from your part of PSL. I'm taking my girls to the groomer (Star Academy in Stuart)) on Thursday and will let them know about Cookie and to keep their eyes peeled for any new Yorkie boys coming in. BIG hugs to you and your family. Hang in there!!!!

| Thank you , thank you thank you. I'm no Angel. I am the type of person that you cant tell me what I am going to do. My mom always said how stubborn I was growing up. But one thing about me is that if I see a need for something, I see need for help, I see a family in need. I will go and offer what little I have to share. We started serving the homeless for the past 2 years then come home and eat here. No one asked me to do this. But after seeing these people. I mean entire families lined up, dressed in their best outfits...to come and eat Thanksgiving under a tent? That hurts me. I could not stop crying as I handed out plates and desserts to families. And I cant tell you how many woman came up to me and talk to me in spanish and tell me " Thank you for doing this, you have no idea what this means to us." Thats when it feels amazing to help total strangers. It would not be the same if someone told me " Today you are going to volunteer" You help so much more when it honestly comes from your heart. This year I stayed home so I can actually cook our dinner but my husband and daughters all went and served. My husband comes back glowing with a true appreciation and thankful for what we do have. Thank you all. Gen |

| I don't understand this statement: You know the city pays to run humane society and this is a kill shelter. But not 1 penny goes to NO KILL shelters and that is so sad and not right! In my experience no city gives $$$ to Humane Society rescue as they are a non-profit organizatin and raise all their own $$$. The cities do usually control the animal shelters and use tax payers $$$ to do this and usually laws are in the place for when the animal has to be put down if it is not placed. The No Kill shelter are the same as any other rescue organization and has to raise thier own operating $$$ just like the Humane Socity. YOu might want to check this out so you are giving accurate information.

| I'm sorry if I ruffled anyone's feathers. I'm not asking anything for myself and I can read what you said "of any kind" . I am doing this from the heart after seeing how far they have to stretch what they get and its not much. Please, I dont want anyone taking anything the wrong way. My only concern is all the dogs and cats that are being taken cared of until they go to their forever homes. I know there are plenty of places that need help.I dont know every law I just know what I saw what these people get paid is 0. I'm trying to turn my own horrible experience of having a missing Yorkie for over 4 weeks now. Something good has to come from this and I feel I'm trying to do that. Things happen in a blink of an eye. It can happen to anyone and my yorkie or many other pets here could get lost or stolen and I only pray that they could end up in a place like Dogs & Cats Forever. I know most of these animals are strays. But I know of many that get brought there because they are stolen or picked them up from the street and just say they are surrendering it. I was told by the volunteer there that it happens way more than people think. Gen (praying everyday that Cookie comes home soon) |

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | Gen, As far as I am concerned you have done nothing wrong and everything right. Asking, not begging, for help for other dogs and cats in a shelter is wonderful. I have even posted a message about putting an ad in Craigslist reminding people that they can get their Christmas pets at a shelter. Its the time of the year when we all should not forget but remember that they need us too.

| Maybe it would be better if people could donate to the organization directly. Just a suggestion.

That would be great as well but either way its a donation. It's easier to have one person do all the shopping and going in person to deliver it all. I dont have a problem with doing either of these things. The adoption center is about 5 miles away.It just seems to take more time to go out and drive to get a money order, or write a check, get stamps and mail it out. Their phone number is in my first post so if anyone wants to do that also. Either way they get the help they need. They have Jasper at their Fort Pierce location and I might have found a family for him through the Yorkie Rescue of Florida they contacted me and gave me their info. A retired couple with no dogs and is willing to help and work with any issues. They just want to have a dog to love and were looking for a Yorkie so this would be a plus.I'm trying to get them in contact with the shelter so they can see him. I know they would take him in a minute if they met him Hopefully he could be in his forever home in time for Christmas. Gen | |

| Gen, you did not ruffle my feathers but I just wanted you to have accurate information because I feel that is important to help animals the most. Your no kill shelter I am sure needs all the help it can get but you are breaking YT rules for having the $$$ going to you. We have had things like this happen on YT before and it just protects everyone if $$$ is given directly to the organization..which is a good thing. A number of years ago we raised close to $1000 and this person walked with the $$$ so I am sure you can see it hurts the animals when this happens. People get burned won't give $$$ down the road.

| Maybe you could encourage everyone to support their local organizations like this? Most of us have such groups nearby and they're all in need.
