| How to use "THE STUFF" for hair HELP! Hi All, I have a 2 yr old yorkie-poo that has fine wavy hair. It is easly matted. I usually take Coco to the groomers. I wanted to get the matts out on my own, so I bought The Stuff. (detangler). Has anybody used this??? I mixed it in a spray bottle and used as directed. The matts are still there. People gave it rave reviews online. I ended up getting out my clippers and did a not so great job getting them out. Does anybody else have good result with The Stuff. Thanks Cindy |

| I am not familiar with "The Stuff", but I can tell you that I haven't had much success with any of the detanglers/leave-in conditioners that work very well for other people -- including Miracle Coat and CC's Ice on Ice. Depends the dog's coat. I read in the grooming section of this forum that corn starch works wonders on mats -- Mimimomo, who sells Madan brushes/combs and more here, wrote that the corn starch should be applied to the dry mat and worked through with fingers. |

| I remember someone recommending it as well to repel pee pee splashes. That's what got me to notice. Uni's rear end stinks by bath time (today, thank god!)

| The Stuff is a silicone product that coats the hair and makes the comb slide through more easily. I'd spray it on, really rub it in and then get out a greyhound (metal) comb and slowly and methodically work through the coat from the skin out. Rewetting with The Stuff as you go. It's possible that after the coat is dematted, they will require a bath. While the product isn't greasy, it does coat the hair and if you use it liberally, it could make the hair look greasy and like you need a bath. To prevent mats, once you get the hair completely combed out from the skin to the ends, you can use a LITTLE spray of The Stuff to coat the hair and keep mats from forming. |
