| Fur growth and color change My yorkie is now 15 months old and her fur never seems to grow and her color has not changed yet except for her face. Underneath her fur she is all gray, but on top is black. When I brush her, I do see quite a bit of fur. Does anyone know when the gray underneath will show through and also why her fur length seems to stay the same? Maybe it is because she is so tiny? (3.7 pounds). |

| I have a friend whos Yorkie is about 2 years old, and his fur is also still dark, black and doesnt grow fast. Another friend has an 8 year old girl, and she is also black on her back, just like a puppy. Some some, not all, keep their colors for a bit longer. Rocky was dark when I got him, now he is all gold and silver. So give it time. Also, might want to do a blood test to make sure his system is in check and nothing is contributing to lack of hair growth. Lack of nutrition or such. |

| I refer to this link often when considering coat/color changes: Yorkie puppy coat color stages within the first two years of maturity - yorkie hair color Kimbo is 7 months old. I think he has a modified coat right now but cannot be sure. He has a silver head and black back. There is no grey under the black yet. His fur grows VERY slowly.

| Tucker will be 3 January 14th 2010 and he is still all black on his back. I love his coloring. If you are lucky, your's might just stay black too! It's so pretty in the sunshine, with the blue tint to it!!

| Bailey is 34 weeks and still has a black back, but his head is losing the dark color, he has a slow growing coat as well.
