YorkieTalk Newbie! | Questions about my Yorkie I became a yorkie mommy on Thanksgiving this year. Her name is Molly and she is 5 years old and weighs about 6 pounds. The lady we got her from contacted us over craigslist. Now I have some questions since I do not know much about yorkie's and yorkie care. A: She makes sometimes a kind of a squicking noise when she is laying on the sofa. B: She shiffers when I pick her up not everytime just sometimes. Almost like she is cold (70 F in the house) C: Molly also has some white gooye stuff comeing out of her right eye everyonce in awhile. Is that normal? D: How ofter shoud I give her a bath? Thanks Sandra |

| Congrats on your new baby! I would highly recommend that you take her to the vet for a check up. Especially if you don't know her history.

| Two issues that may be attributed to her squeaking sound could be a reverse sneeze which sounds mostly like a goose honk very common in yorkies and does not cause any problems.Second could be a collapsed trachea which is more serious and she should really be seen by a vet to rule it out.Shivering could be a sign of fear ,give her time to adjust.White goo is not normal but does not sound like an infection ,perhaps she has hair poking into her eye that could be causing the irritation. Baths should be given every 7-10 days . Congrats on beoming a new yorkies mommy and we can't wait to see pics

| Welcome to YTCongratulations on your new yorkie! If she is shivering put a little t shirt on her and cuddle her in a blankey. The white stuff in her eye could be an infection so you should get a hold of your vet Now to have her checked. You wouldn't want it to get worse. If she has an infection that could cause her to shiver, too. Please post photos of your new little one and let us know how she is doing. Good Luck. I bath Sophie every week to 10 days but maybe a tad longer in the winter when she isn't running around the yard so much.
