Help Hi All, I have a 7 month Yorkie Kujo, and for the past week he has started barking more then normal. Is this a phase dogs will go thru? Gets really frustrating for me because you tell him to stop and he just keeps going then eventually will stop...

Its a male thing I have a male and he barks alot more than the female. Joey barks for a reason, He barks to get me downstairs in the mornings to let him and the girls out. Its the girls that need to go. He barks when he wants to play, he barks when one of the girls has the rawhind he wants to chew and he wants ME to take it away from them, he really pouts when I wont do it. He barks when he wants me to pick him up so he can give me my Joey hug!!! This is the one bark I don't ever mind hearing!!! I think if you really pay attention he will train you to know what he wants when he barks. YOU just aren't trained very well yet!!!! But keep faith-there is hope for you yet, Yorkies are very good trainers!!!!!Good luck

The first thing that came to my mind is how much time do you spend with him? Maybe he is barking because he is bored and wants to play. I too have learned to pay attention to Penelope's bark, cause when she barks its ALWAYS for a reason like she sees someone walking passed our house, or hears someone in the kitchen late at night (my brothers getting midnight snacks).
