| Ahh! The Crying!!!! First off, I *love* my dog more than anything, but the crying is beyond frustrating!!! Does it ever stop?? I have friends that say it never does lol. I'm hoping to hear that this isn't true! She is crated at night, and some nights there isn't a peep, some nights it's 5-15 minutes, tonight it's been going on for 30 minutes! I know nothing is wrong with her and that she was playing and I put her in, so maybe she is pissed at me, but she KNOWS I'm not going to get her. Why doesn't she realize this? She also cries during the day, if I leave her sight, if I leave her in the car to run into a store... Basically if I am not holding her or if she can't see me lol. I have had her for two months and she is 17 weeks old. Please give me hope! Or at least let me know I am not alone.

| it will eventually pass. My puppy did that a lot in the beginning. He still does it once a while but not as much though. The funny thing is that when he howled, he sounded like a bird. My neighbors actually thought I had a bird. |

| ugh, I have the same problem right now. My baby just turned 8 weeks on the 17th, have had her since 5 weeks, and she is attached to my hip. Even if I have to go to the bathroom, she has to be RIGHT there. If I leave her sight, she starts to howl and cry. Even if it is just to throw something away or turn a light on or something, if I am not on the couch with her, she starts to whine. The nights are really bad right now. She wakes me up on average around 6 times a night. She starts howling and will keep at it for quite a while. I dont know if she has to go potty, so I normally get up and take her out, but most of the time, she just stands by my leg and begs to be picked up. I am exhausted!! Hopefully she learns soon that it is okay to be away from me for just a sec.

| Pasquale is a complete momma's boy. He'll cry if i'm at my parents house and i go outside to do something. I think its more of a jealousy thing..he's saying "HEY no fair..i wanna go outside!" P.S. I wouldnt leave my dog in the car if you go into a store. There have been too many incidents where dogs have been stolen from cars before.

| Shes still a baby the crying should stop when she gets older although Callie who will be 3 in May has started crying a little when she wants something because she know she will get or if she sees a bug or has killed the the bug and wants someone to remove it but never at night unless she wakes up and has to go potty which is never really but I would never ever leave my dog in the car even if you are just runing into a store for a second because all it takes is a second for them to be taken.

| That was my thought too. They aren't even weaned at that age and still very much attached to mama. As for the crying, the more you get up with them the longer the crying will continue. I would put a pee pad at one end of the crate and not get them up in the night. Make sure they have had some play time before bed time to wear them out. |

| Generally it gets better. Depending on how young your pup is and how long you have them and what age you got them all factors into how much crying you'll get. When I crated my pups, I always put a shirt that I had wore and put it in the crate. They had my scent and it seemed to calm them. I also put the crate up on a table, where they could see me during the night and if they cried, I put my fingers in the crate so they knew I was still there. It does get better as they get older. |

| We leave the radio on low when she's crated. Also, when she was younger one of our t-shirts were her blankets. I think having her crate next to Bandit so she could see him helped a lot. She's fine going into her crate now. She'll cry if we're home and she's in her crate but if we're leaving and she has to go in her crate she has no problem. Good luck |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I held him all the time, and when I had work to do, I carried him around in a sling bag, I just can't bear to hear a puppy cry. At night, Joey slept in a small zippered crate next to my bed, and I would take him out once or twice to use the pee pad, I'd place him on the pee pad, and then back in his crate. Because the crate had a zipper, I could stick my hand in it and comfort him, he just needed to know someone was there. As soon as he was good with the pee pad training, we allowed him to sleep with us, and he never soiled the bed, we had a pee pad at the foot of the bed on a chest. By the time he was six months, he didn't need holding all the time, and at three years old, I want to hold him more than he wants to be held!

| I don't get her out at night, at all. Once she is in there, she is in till morning... I do have a pee pad in there, and recently it has been dry. Also, when I leave her in the car she is in her little travel bag and the car is locked. I definitely don't keep the keys in there or anything. But it's the same as most of you... She can be sound asleep on the couch and if I get up to get a glass of water, she wakes up and starts crying lol. Forget going to the bathroom alone or anything like that.

| well, what you don't want to do is give in to every wimper or you will create a dog that OWNS you, not the other way around. Fergus and Hamish both get away with a LOT, but, there is some stuff we just don't do around here....and one of them is give in to their every whim...with yorkies, if they figure out they can manipulate you, well....its all over! Be firm, loving, and patient. Eventually, when you don't reward her crying with doing what she wants (like picking her up, taking her out of the crate, etc) she will get the message.

| yeah, I feel really stupid for taking her. I though that you were supposed to wait at least 8 weeks, (some have even said 12) but the breeder swore up and down that it was fine because she was weaned and was eating well. And I had already paid a deposit on her, and the lady told me that since I was choosing to leave the puppy with her when it was fine to take her, they were gonna act as if she were in a kennel, I would have to pay for them to hold on to her. Since I had already paid the deposit, I didnt want to forfit my money, so I took her home. Some people have even said that in some states, it is illegal to give the puppies away at this age....
