| How far do you walk your Yorkie I am wondering how far you walk your Yorkie. I know these little guys do not need a lot of exercise but is there a limit to how far one should walk their yorkie. I have been taking my little guy (16 months, 3lbs 11 oz) out for walks that are sometimes more than 5 kms. Is this too far for these little guys? Candace and Bailey |

| Buddy could walk forever! He's a larger Yorkie and loves being out doors. Two things I thought Yorkies didn't like to do which is one of the reasons I picked this breed. LOL I walk Buddy 4 times daily. The 6 and 8 am walk is only about 15mins the 5:30 walk is about 1/2 hr and about 1mi, the longest of the four times he goes out. When it's time to go home he will sit and not budge looking in the oppistie direction hoping to go back that way. I can't fool him. He knows every which way is home. He would be very happy running and being outdoors even in cold weather this boy of mine would. |

| Before surgery, Hot Rod and I would walk a total of about 2 1/2 miles a day broken up. One walk was a mile in itself. Now with me working, I'm lucky to get 2-half mile walks in. With the rain we've had and now with winter hours, we're lucky to get any walks of any significance.

| Buster could walk forever. He is about 3.8 lbs. That is his favorite thing to do. He will get his leash and unroll and sit in front of the door...very patiently. I think he has probably walked at least 2 miles in one walk. I don't let him do more than that in one walk. Maggie hates to walk. She goes to humor me. She wants to be picked up after 15 minutes or so. She has walked longer than that, but I can tell she is tired.

| Galahad gets two walks a day. One first thing in the morning, about 10 minutes, and another in the evening after dinner, that one is 30-50 minutes, depending on him. I'd put us at close to a mile a day.

YT 500 Club Member | Dont know the distance but I try to get my two out for at least one walk a day for about 1 hour. Alfie weighs 7lb and Rosie a little over 4lb and they both come back and start charging around with barely a pause. I met a woman one day with a larger Yorkie, he gets long walks during the week but on a Sunday they can easily be out for 4 hours and he loves it. I too take mine for longer on a Sunday 1 hour in the morning and another in the afternoon weather permitting. |

She doesn't NEED a walk tho, when I'm feeling lazy she's perfectly content playing fetch indoors or running laps around the backyard.

| Jackson could walk forever. I haven't been walking him as often lately because of crazy weather and such, but on a lot of weekends we will walk for 4 miles or more. And then we're done and he STILL wants to play. He could walk forever! He can run forever, too! He has tons of energy.

| Peanut LOVES to be outside in general! I take him for about an hour walks, and he does fine.. if its too cold or to hot he wants me to carry him, after that hour!! But the days where I am lazy he is fine with running around the house, or even a little walk around just so he can smell and pee on things!! I think it all depends on the dog, they will let you know when they have had enough!!
