| Adult Coat? Maddie is 6 months old and has never had her body hair cut (just a face trim and sanatation butt trim and paw trim. I combed her out last night and her hair is about 3-3.5 inches. The roots are lighter than the tips. Is this her adult coat? I attached a pic and hope you can see the lighter part near the roots... |

| Yes, you can look at the roots and see her adult color coming in. Sophie was quite dark with tips of brown on her muzzel, chest and toes with a silver color on her head. Now her face is mostly tan, all her legs are tan and on her head I looked at the roots and they were a light tan at the roots a month ago and now she is nearly all tan on her head. You can see where she had a lot of silver when her avatar photo was taken.

| My Tucket is 6 months old too and his hair is still mostly black but his back end is getting sprigs of gray and tan in it. Is there any particular place that it starts coming in? His hair is about 2-3" long. Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread... |
