| Lots of considerations before one could answer that one. Sex? size? Location? quality? guarantee? Quality of breeder? Those are just for starters. Maybe someone on here can give a better guesstimate than I But there is nothing I have seen for less than $800.00 in this area and that might not even make a good pet. |

| The local breeder here has show quality yorkies and is charging 1200.00 for males and 1500 for females. Does this sound reasonable? |

| hmmmmmmmmmmm Good Question? Princess was $2500, but Iv'e seen a lot less, and then again Iv'e seen a lot more. I guess it depends on the history of parents, You might fall in love with a $3000 baby, or find one with great lines at 2000, Sorry to be no help, just make sure you ask lots of questions! Please let us know!

| When I was looking for Chewy, the prices I saw for quality bred pets were in the 1,200 - 2,000 range. I paid within that range for Chewy, but I still think it is outrageous, it's just the way it is though. In my opinion anyone charging over 2,000 is getting a little greedy. |

| liek someone else said there are LOTS of considerations such as sex, size, quality..... Personally i did not care about papers or show quality.... i wanted a pet I got my yorkie for $500, BUT he is bigger than the average yorkie, he is 13 lbs (let me also point out that he was following the normal growth to be 6 lbs, but for some reason he just "kept growing" and there is no way to know the weight of a puppy, it is mostly guesswork, there could be some genes in the line that come from bigger parents ect...) It also depends on where you are looking. California is the hotspot for little "toy dog accesories" so you can expect to pay a lot here. I got lucky and was crusing the newspaper for MONTHS looking for the right price, i wasnt going to pay over $800 for a dog. and most the dogs here go that much (and also i would like to point out 800 here is not necessarily show quality, i have seen pet quality yorkies with no papers go for this much)... for females here in cali i dont think you would pay any less than 1000 and the LEAST |

| The cheapest I have ever seen a yorkie sell for was $400 (with no papers, no shots, and no guarantee) I paid $2200 for Lexi (she has a great champion bloodline and she was show quality and a 1yr guarantee). Then I got Tori for pet quality, with papers, decent bloodline, and a 1 yr guarantee) and paid $1400...

| I paid $475 for an AKC registered male with a decent pedigree and a guarantee against congenital defects.

| I live in the San Francisco bay area, probably the most expensive place in california and yorkies are no exception. They range from 900-no papers/standard size to 2000/show quality-standard size. But the teeny tiney ones start 1500- 3000, and they are not even recognized by the AKC. So it all depends on what you want to do with your yorkie. I paid 1000 for Bia and today she weighed in at 5.3 lbs and shes not registered. I probably overpaid but it was my first experience, and I did not research as much as I should of, but oh well I still got a great dog who gets a lot of ooos & awwws. I know next time what to look for though.

| I see them go 600 and up around here. They usually stay around the 1000 dollar range though. That's not show quality though. Since you have a price from one person I'd suggest calling around to all the breeders within maybe a 3-4 hour drive radius and asking prices just to see what they are in your area and also maybe check the net to find breeders around you and thier prices. Then you'll know if the price that you've already seen is a price you'll be willing to pay. Its kinda hard to say if its a good price or not. It may be where I am but not where you are. I understand though no one wants to get ripped off but in the end the only person who can decide if they got ripped off is that person themself. So if you feel like that is a good price and are happy paying it don't give it another thought.

| I've seen them range from 5oo to 10,000! The one my husband fell in love with was 5,500 but would only be 1.8lbs fully grown. I want to breed Chloe a couple times so i wanted bigger. Still she was 2000. |

| I live in Florida. I bought Leili in Miami and I paid $1,800 for her when she was 3 months old. She is now 2 years old and weighs 7.3 lbs. I bought Leili on line sight unseen but I was very, very lucky as Leili has been very healthy, and has a very cute and sweet face. I also want to mention that Leili was not registered but I did get health guarantee papers and shot records when I got her. Also she was checked by a certified vet 4 days before I picked her up. I am owned by Leili and consider myself the luckiest yorkie owner in the world. I will never buy another yorkie again without seeing her/him and without checking out the breeder first. Cathy |
